MyLeague has one of the simplest ranking systems ever used for competitive play. The concept was adopted from the ranking system used on the official Case’s Ladders. We call it a "Ladder" because each member holds a unique rank or "rung" that represents their standing among other members. The highest-ranked member holds the #1 Ladder position; for example, someone ranked #2 is ranked below the #1 member. The goal is to "climb" the Ladder all the way to the top!
- When you first join, you are placed in an “Unranked” category on the League.
- You become "Ranked" after winning your first League match. (Unranked members may play each other, and the winner becomes ranked at the bottom of the League.)
-
When you defeat a higher-ranked member, you move up in rank 50% the distance between their rank and your own.
- Example: If you are ranked #50 and you beat the #1 ranked member, then your new rank would be 25.
-
Your rank on the League does not go down if you lose a match unless your opponent is ranked DIRECTLY below you.
- Example: If you are ranked #5 and the #6 ranked member defeats you, then your new rank would be #6.
-
When members ranked below you are victorious against members ranked above you, it's possible the member will jump over you in rank and you will move down one rung. This depends on the ranks involved.
- Example(per 50% rank gain) :You are currently ranked #7. If the #10 ranked member defeats the #1 ranked member, then #10 will advance to the #5 rung and you will fall to the #8 rung.

League Names
- If your League name is deemed offensive or contains profanity, your account may be removed.
- If your League name is deemed abusive towards another member, your account may be removed.
- You can edit your League name by using the ‘My Account’ tab and choosing the ‘Edit Username’ option. If you have problems changing your League name, please use the ‘Contact Admin’ link, located on the 'Support' tab.
-
E-mail Address
- Your E-mail address must be kept current at all times, in case you need to be contacted. You can use the 'Edit E-mail Address' link on the 'My Account' tab to edit your E-mail address.
-
Password Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
- You are not permitted to share your password with anyone for any reason.
-
Inactivity
- In order to keep the League as dynamic as possible, your account will be automatically deleted if you are inactive for 255 days. However, one of the features of our Premium Membership Program is never being deleted for inactivity. Information regarding our Premium Membership Program can be found here .
-
Multiple Accounts
- Only one account is allowed per person. There are no exceptions to this rule.
- It is forbidden for more than one person to use or share the same account.
- Multiple accounts from the same location will be investigated and possibly removed.
-
Chat
- The best way to find League matches is to announce in chat that you are looking for a League match so that other members will know you are interested in League-play. You can also directly challenge a specific member in chat.
-
Formal Challenges
- Most Leagues permit the use of Formal Challenges. A complete overview of the Formal Challenge system can be found here .
-
3 time(s) Per Day
- You may play the same member 3 time(s) per day. However, you may play as many different members as you would like on any given day. A “MyLeague” day begins at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
-
Verify Information
- We recommend you ensure a potential opponent is also a member of the League before starting your match. You can do this very easily by searching for your opponent using the 'Search for Players' tool.
-
Opponents
- You are not allowed to report losses to another member that also plays from the same computer as you. Our security software will detect this activity if it is attempted, and participating accounts may be penalized or removed.
-
Sportsmanship
- The same rules that apply to behavior in chat (covered in a later section) also apply during matches.
-
Reporting the Loss
- In one-on-one matches, the loser of the match reports the loss to the winner.
- In partner matches, each member of the losing team reports a loss to both partners of the winning team. At the end of the match, you would either gain two wins or report two losses.
- In “free for all” matches (matches in which multiple opponents are competing against each other without partners), each loser of the match must report a loss to one overall winner.
- When playing matches with more than one opponent, it is important for losses to be reported in the proper order if rank will be affected by the order of report. You must report to the better-ranked opponent first in those cases. It is your responsibility to make sure you report in the correct order when necessary. Not doing so may result in penalty.
-
Unreported Matches
- If your opponent does not report their loss within one hour after completing the match or prior to starting another match, you should click on the “Contact Admin” link and then use the “Unreported Match” form.
- TIME OUT - GENERAL RULES
We uses a Delay Clock for tourneys (Delay Clock==boot/froze rule). Delay represents all actions that may result in delaying the Games and Tourney advancement, including but not limited to boot, freeze, away from keyboard, playing in another tourney or game, disconnection, or slow play.
The clock applies from time of TD notification in lobby, except on never-started matches at the opening of the tourney. TD notification can be either a player notifying the TD in the lobby, or the TD notifying the players in the tournament by announcing the clock in the lobby. The intent of this requirement is that there must be a public record of each use of the time out clock.
For never-started matches at the opening of the tourney. the clock begins at the actual start time of the tournament (please write in lobby the time you have the pairs up that's the formal starting time for the tourney). All missing players are timed as of this moment, regardless of whether or not their absence is reported to the lobby immediately.
The basic time-out procedure is as follows:
- When your inactivity is detected/reported, the TD will “start the clock” by
so stating in the lobby. At that point you have 10 minutes to return or you will
forfeit the match.
- If you should “unfreeze” after, say, 3 minutes, then the TD will “stop the
clock” upon notification, and announce something like “Misterxx off clock, 3 minutes
used, 7 minutes remaining”.
- If you should “go on the clock” again, the TD restarts the clock with 7
minutes remaining, and in this manner in continues until you have timed out or
your match is over.
TDs are empowered to intervene in lagging matches because of Slow Play, or matches that have clearly stalled a bracket of the tournament, and award the match to the player who is not at fault, or to the player in the lead if nobody is at fault (slow play rule)
- finals of tourneys are always 15 minutes.
- The clock may be relaxed in the finals of the tournament, at the TD's discretion.
- The TD keeps the time and his/her decision is final.
In teams
TAG RULE IS USED .Tag rules means that as soon as your partner gets booted, u MUST take his / her place and play on. The minute the booted player is back, he /she gets back to his / her seat and finishes the game.
But why then a BOOT RULE?
- 1) every teammate has to start a game in every match. If the teammate isn't here after first game has ended, BOOT RULE starts.
- 2) if both players of the same team are booted, BOOT RULE starts
- When your inactivity is detected/reported, the TD will “start the clock” by
so stating in the lobby. At that point you have 10 minutes to return or you will
forfeit the match.
Account Rules
Challenges
Note: Please consult the Admin staff regarding whether or not League challenges are permitted for this League. A challenge is defined as a request for a match with a higher-ranked member. Whether you are the challenger or the one being challenged, there are some rules that must be followed. Violating these rules may result in penalties. If you notice anyone violating these rules, please contact the Admin staff.
Playing a Match
Once you are ready to start playing a League match, there are some guidelines governing game play that you should keep in mind.
Reporting the Match
Once your match is completed, the loser of the match is responsible for reporting the loss immediately. You can report your matches using the 'Report Loss' button located on the 'Standings' tab. Please note the ‘Report Loss’ link should only be used for League matches and not for tournament matches; you should consult the TD with any questions regarding reporting tournament matches. If you have any problems reporting a loss, you should contact the Admin staff and request assistance.
Tournaments
The rules for a Tournament are determined by the Tournament Director hosting the event. You will find a summary of each individual Tournament, including a Rules page, if you follow the link for that specific Tournament.
League-Specific Rules
TOURNEY GENERAL RULES
Players are responsible for familiarizing themselves with both the game being played, and the Play Site where it is played. If a player has any problems with the Play Site s/he should deal with the support team for that Site.
Players are expected to be on time and ready to play at the beginning of a tourney. Tardiness hinders the timely completion of tourneys and is unfair to other players. Please show respect for the league and its players by arriving a little early for every tourney.
Players are expected to conduct themselves in a civil manner and treat all others with respect. Failure to do so is cause for disqualification from a Tourney. Repeated unacceptable behavior is cause for removal from the League. Obscene language, aggressive trash-talking, and taunting or denigration of other players are examples of unacceptable behavior.
Tourney tables must be “protected”. Private tables are not permitted in tourney play (unless asked by the td and the td in the room). This is so the TD can provide support if necessary. Failure to change status from "private" to "protected" when requested by the TD will result in disqualification of the table host. If another player is harassing a table, the TD may permit it to be made private and will remain at the table to monitor the match.
If there is a problem with who hosts, the higher seeded player makes the table.
1st class Everest has a "same name" rule: your Everest name and your Play Site name must be identical. The TD has the right to make a rare exception to this rule, if a player is unable to get back to the Play Site using his registered name after a boot. Otherwise, you must play under the name in which you are registered at 1st class Everest.
If you have any problem, invite the TD to your table ~or use IM or Pager. Never air grievances in the lobby.
1st class Everest league uses a 10-minute "Delay Clock" 15 minutes for final in most tourneys. The clock applies from time of TD notification in lobby, except on never-started matches at the opening of the tourney, the clock begins at the actual start time of the tournament (please write in lobby the time you have the pairs up that's the formal starting time for the tourney). The clock may be relaxed in the finals of the tournament, at the TD's discretion. The TD keeps the time and his/her decision is final.
In any case of tie we will do a tiebreaker. The tiebreaker will consist of a 1 point match between the 2 parties. (like we do in survivors when there is a tie on those voted out).
Forced Forfeits (FF); are never allowed in Everest. If your opponent is booted and the forfeit screen comes up, always use the “wait” option. If you FF and your opponent returns within the clock limit, you will be disqualified. If your opponent is timed out, the TD will request a save or cancel, depending upon how far advanced the match was, and upon its likely result had it been completed those match that are saved are to be played as league game and reported on the league main page.
Decisions and rulings of TDs (Tourney Directors) are FINAL and not open to debate.
Reporting ... In all cases the losing opponent must report the match result
Be honest and fair in all that you do: that’s the most fun of all!
Pace of play is the key element in keeping tournaments enjoyable for all. When one bracket of a tournament stalls, which can happen for any of a number of reasons, all players feel the effect and the frustration can be immense. Some causes of slow play are outside the player's control, such as a slow connection. Others are very controllable: pace of play is often an individual decision in particular, playing in more than one tourney at the same time, though not recommended, carries with it an absolute obligation to keep pace in both tourneys, at the risk of DQ from either or both. Regardless of the reason, we cannot tolerate slow play in tournament matches, and TDs are empowered to intervene in lagging matches and award the match to the player who is not at fault, or to the player in the lead if nobody is at fault.
Please note, that a senior or disabled player may have a slower then normal pace of play. This is NOT to be considered slow play, and we would appreciate it if you bear with us in such situations and be considerate to our senior and disabled players.
Any player who feels victimized by slow play, lagging connection, excessive conversation, or any other such hampering of timely play by his opponent should call the TD to the table and ask for intervention. The TD will observe and, if necessary, issue a slow play warning to the player at fault. If the pace is not immediately picked up and sustained, the TD has the sole discretion to award the match to the player not at fault. If the stalled match is in a Team Tourney and only one of the players on a team is at fault, the TD will attempt to locate and seat a substitute for that player.
The TD also has the power to intervene on his/her own in matches that have clearly stalled a bracket of the tournament, whether or not a player requests such intervention. Typically this will be done when a match is one full round behind the other matches in its bracket. In other words, if you are still on round 1, say, and the rest the bracket has moved to round 3, your match may, and probably will, be called by the TD. In such a case, the match will be awarded to the leader if it cannot be determined that the slow play is the fault of either player (i.e. both players lagging, or “just one of those matches” that refuses to end).
In either case, the TD’s decision is final and irrevocable. Our primary goal is to keep tourneys moving smoothly and on schedule, anything else is unfair to the players in the tourney.

Top Ten
The purpose of the League is to climb to the top and the competition for the rungs in the Top Ten is high. As such, we have special rules that apply for members in the Top Ten.
-
Inactivity
- Members in the Top Ten must play a League match at least once every 4 days; otherwise, you will be automatically dropped five rungs and your inactivity counter is reset. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Expected Behavior
As a member of MyLeague, you are representing the League, the Admin staff, and all other members when you are participating on a MyLeague. It’s part of your responsibility as a member to act in a respectable manner within your League community.
-
Cheating
- If you believe your opponent is cheating, then you should contact the Admin staff.
-
Abuse
- It is forbidden to abuse or harass another League member.
- It is important to remember that two wrongs do not make a right. If you are being harassed by another League member, contact the Admin staff for assistance. Do not take matters into your own hands or return the abuse, or you could be penalized as well.
-
Nice Guy Rule
- Please note that behavior guidelines govern all methods of communication. This includes chat, E-mail, message forums, instant messenger services, etc. Treat other members with respect!
Fill in the Blank
Although we have tried to be as detailed as possible, we can’t cover every aspect of gaming in our rules. Please be advised that just because something is not stated in our rules and policies, then that does not mean it is allowed. Use common sense. If it is something that will adversely affect other members and you might think twice about it, then it’s probably against the rules. The Admin staff will have the final say in such matters. If you have a specific question please feel free to contact us via E-mail.
