Upon hearing on the possibility that the 2v2 Tourney on Sat. nights with our friends in Britpool has been scrapped, or is beng "looked" at for possible modifications, etc. Not an arguement out there that would change my mind on this subject. Was one of the funnest things going. Period.
    Sincerely,
    Smak (Tim)

I agree with you smak all the way on this one... even though I haven't been here much... I enjoyed it when I was, and now that I have sat off .. that was one of the tourney's I was looking forward too getting into.

I liked the 2v2 . When I got to play. Can't always get a partner . I think Brownie was my partner most times and we did great but when I wanted to play and had no partner I had to just not play that nite . Also I did not feel we were doing what it was meant for which was BP vs BNR . Thanks, Cap

It seems like I should clarify the situation as far as the Saturday night tourneys is concerned.

When it started out, we all thought it would be a great idea to generate a bit of friendly rivalry between BNR and BP with a 2v2.
Due to the limitations of the tourney , it soon became clear that it was impossible to adjust the pairings so that a BP pair were always playing a BNR pair, there simply were insufficient numbers of pairs.

After the last 2v2, several members approached me to say that it wasn't really a BNR vs BP situation, because they had played other BNR pairs all through the tounrey.

I invited all Admins and TD's availble to a meeting to discuss the matter.

The outcome of the meeting was that we should TRY an MLP-style format the followng Saturday. This would produce a true competition, as well as being valuable match practise.

BP was invited to take part, but none of them did. The Breakers who took part enjoyed it, and tell me they want to keep that format. I happen to agree with them.

That is the situation as it stands at this moment. I've had a couple of Breakers tell me that they are sorry the 2v2 isn't happening, but many more have told me that the new teams match format was great fun.

BNR is a democratic entity. No one person calls the shots. I was personally dissapointed that none of the BP players turned up on Saturday night, but that is their choice. Our first duty is towards the BNR members and what they want.
