The Ranking System!
MyLeague has one of the simplest ranking systems ever used for competitive play. The concept was adopted from the ranking system used on the official Case’s Ladders. We call it a "Ladder" because each member holds a unique rank or "rung" that represents their standing among other members. The highest-ranked member holds the #1 Ladder position; for example, someone ranked #2 is ranked below the #1 member. The goal is to "climb" the Ladder all the way to the top!
  • When you first join, you are placed in an “Unranked” category on the League.
  • You become "Ranked" after winning your first League match. (Unranked members may play each other, and the winner becomes ranked at the bottom of the League.)
  • When you defeat a higher-ranked member, you move up in rank 50% the distance between their rank and your own.
    • Example: If you are ranked #50 and you beat the #1 ranked member, then your new rank would be 25.
  • Your rank on the League does not go down if you lose a match unless your opponent is ranked DIRECTLY below you.
    • Example: If you are ranked #5 and the #6 ranked member defeats you, then your new rank would be #6.
    • When members ranked below you are victorious against members ranked above you, it's possible the member will jump over you in rank and you will move down one rung. This depends on the ranks involved.
      • Example(per 50% rank gain) :You are currently ranked #7. If the #10 ranked member defeats the #1 ranked member, then #10 will advance to the #5 rung and you will fall to the #8 rung.

    Account Rules
    • League Names
      • If your League name is deemed offensive or contains profanity, your account may be removed.
      • If your League name is deemed abusive towards another member, your account may be removed.
      • You can edit your League name by using the ‘My Account’ tab and choosing the ‘Edit Username’ option. If you have problems changing your League name, please use the ‘Contact Admin’ link, located on the 'Support' tab.
    • E-mail Address
      • Your E-mail address must be kept current at all times, in case you need to be contacted. You can use the 'Edit E-mail Address' link on the 'My Account' tab to edit your E-mail address.
    • Password Security
      • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
      • You are not permitted to share your password with anyone for any reason.
    • Inactivity
      • In order to keep the League as dynamic as possible, your account will be automatically deleted if you are inactive for 255 days. However, one of the features of our Premium Membership Program is never being deleted for inactivity. Information regarding our Premium Membership Program can be found here .
    • Multiple Accounts
      • Only one account is allowed per person. There are no exceptions to this rule.
      • It is forbidden for more than one person to use or share the same account.
      • Multiple accounts from the same location will be investigated and possibly removed.

    Challenges
Note: Please consult the Admin staff regarding whether or not League challenges are permitted for this League. A challenge is defined as a request for a match with a higher-ranked member. Whether you are the challenger or the one being challenged, there are some rules that must be followed. Violating these rules may result in penalties. If you notice anyone violating these rules, please contact the Admin staff.
    • Chat
      • The best way to find League matches is to announce in chat that you are looking for a League match so that other members will know you are interested in League-play. You can also directly challenge a specific member in chat.
    • Formal Challenges
      • Most Leagues permit the use of Formal Challenges. A complete overview of the Formal Challenge system can be found here .
    • 0 time(s) Per Day
      • You may play the same member 0 time(s) per day. However, you may play as many different members as you would like on any given day. A “MyLeague” day begins at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
    • Verify Information
      • We recommend you ensure a potential opponent is also a member of the League before starting your match. You can do this very easily by searching for your opponent using the 'Search for Players' tool.

    Playing a Match
Once you are ready to start playing a League match, there are some guidelines governing game play that you should keep in mind.
    • Opponents
      • You are not allowed to report losses to another member that also plays from the same computer as you. Our security software will detect this activity if it is attempted, and participating accounts may be penalized or removed.
    • Sportsmanship
      • The same rules that apply to behavior in chat (covered in a later section) also apply during matches.

    Reporting the Match
Once your match is completed, the loser of the match is responsible for reporting the loss immediately. You can report your matches using the 'Report Loss' button located on the 'Standings' tab. Please note the ‘Report Loss’ link should only be used for League matches and not for tournament matches; you should consult the TD with any questions regarding reporting tournament matches. If you have any problems reporting a loss, you should contact the Admin staff and request assistance.
    • Reporting the Loss
      • In one-on-one matches, the loser of the match reports the loss to the winner.
      • In partner matches, each member of the losing team reports a loss to both partners of the winning team. At the end of the match, you would either gain two wins or report two losses.
      • In “free for all” matches (matches in which multiple opponents are competing against each other without partners), each loser of the match must report a loss to one overall winner.
      • When playing matches with more than one opponent, it is important for losses to be reported in the proper order if rank will be affected by the order of report. You must report to the better-ranked opponent first in those cases. It is your responsibility to make sure you report in the correct order when necessary. Not doing so may result in penalty.
    • Unreported Matches
      • If your opponent does not report their loss within one hour after completing the match or prior to starting another match, you should click on the “Contact Admin” link and then use the “Unreported Match” form.

    Tournaments
The rules for a Tournament are determined by the Tournament Director hosting the event. You will find a summary of each individual Tournament, including a Rules page, if you follow the link for that specific Tournament.

    League-Specific Rules
TOURNAMENTS: 1a. Rounds and points are determined by the TD. 1b. Player ID must match league ID. 1c. Cube is allowed and encouraged. Except when the points are 1. It is inappropriate to cube beyond the match maximum points. The TD has the option to make a NO CUBE policy in specialty tournaments. 1d.Tables will always be protected and rated. Except for team tourneys or specialty events. 1e. Visitors must leave tables if requested by either player or TD. 1f. Losses will be reported to both lobby and tourney page by non-winner. Unless a special event or paper tourney. Then report directly to the TD. 1g. 3 boot/freeze or 10 min idle = DQ. 10 Minute boot time starts when TD is called or notices. TD must check the missing players idle time and set the clock accordingly. If idle 1 min then time left is 9 min. 1h. Save or Cancel a game if opponent times out. This is really a players choice and not up to the TD to determine. All the TD can do is report the results of the DQ to the tourney results page to advance the tourney. If the remaining player chooses to save/cancel that is their right. NEVER Force Forfeit - FF equals mandatory Disqualification. In either case the TD may be invited to sit and assist the player in making the necessary change to close the table and move on. 1i. Unsportsmanlike behavior = DQ after 1 warning. 1j. Excessive slow play or harassment of others (players or tds) is subject to DQ after 2 warnings. HARRASSMENT IS IN THE OPINION OF THE TD AND THEY MUST ACT RESPONSIBLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL PLAYERS IN THE TOURNEY. 1k. Who invites to play during a tourney? Many TD’s like the First player listed to host table and invite opponent who will be allowed to be first to sit. There is no rule about this… sometimes the first player listed is involved in another tourney and it is not practical to expect them to invite. If this first player invite is the TD’s preference they must list it in the tourney rules and the lobby. 1L. It is the players responsibility to read the rules and assure table is set for correct game points. In the event a table is miss set the TD must request a new table be started and the incorrect game cancelled. 2. WHO IS IN CHARGE: 2a. The person in charge of a tourney is the TD running the tourney, not the admin in the room or the other TD’s. 3 LANGUAGE: 3A. English is the official tournament language. However, we are an international league. If players and TD agree then a different language may be spoken during a tournament match. If necessary a non partial interpreter can be called in to assist. 3b. All languages are acceptable in the lobby. However - if a curious person wants to know what is going on it is nice to tell - we all want to learn about each other's languages and cultures. 3C. Vulgarity is not acceptable in any language. If Vulgar language is suspected take a screen shot and report it immediately. An interpreter will be brought in to confirm and appropriate actions taken. 4. HARASSMENT: For the purpose of this section, "harassment" means conduct directed at a specific person which would cause a reasonable person to be seriously alarmed, annoyed or harassed and the conduct in fact seriously alarms, annoys or harasses the person. Anonymously or otherwise communicates or causes a communication with another person by verbal, electronic, mechanical, telegraphic, telephonic or written means in a manner that harasses. 2. Continues to follow, or contact another person after being asked to Stop. 4a. Harassment will not be tolerated towards players of this league, td’s, or Administrators. If harassment is suspected, the harasser will be told to leave the other person alone – to avoid their tournaments or games with them. Both parties will be asked to put the “opposing party” on their ignore list. 4b. All players have the right to refuse a match with someone they have problems with. If this refusal to play is during a tournament match – the TD will invite both players to a table – if one player still refuses to play - the 10 min rule will be initiated. After the clock has run out the person refusing to sit will be disqualified. 4c. Any player may request the TD or admin to sit at their table during a match with a proposed problem player. (The active TD may request a visiting – non-playing TD or Admin to assist). 4d. In the case of a tournament director – they must use discretion regarding players in their tournaments. If a player has caused problems and these issues were brought to the administration – they have the right to remove the person from their tournament. HOWEVER - they are not allowed to do so – just because they do not like a person. There must be a history of problems documented with the Administrators of the league. In this case permission from the Head Administrator will be granted to the TD to take actions to prevent further harassment by a troublesome player. 5. Acceptable Regular Play and Tournament Play: 5a. Regular matches can be used as learning tools to assist weaker players in fine tuning their game. Re-do’s and second chances, inappropriate cubes – etc can be challenged and explained by the more experienced player – in order to assist the newer player in learning and better understanding the game. 5b. Tournament play does not allow for deviations. Tournament is a competition of skill and chance, played to see who is the best, at that particular game. There are no second chances, it is not the time to challenge the opponents playing practices or teach the game. It is roll and move. Period. 5c. Of course good sportsmanship practices must be used – comment on a game well played, or improvements - never comment about how poorly someone played during a tournament. 6. Tournament Finals: If during the course of a finals match the finalists become angered with each other and show unsportsmanlike conduct the TD has the following options: 6a. Give each a warning about their behavior and tell them to ignore each other. 6b.Tell them to stop arguing and just play – first one to start the conduct again will be disqualified. 6c.If both are at fault and they continue – tell them the match must continue and if they choose to fight any complaint filed will be disregarded by the staff. 6d. If the TD so chooses, they may stop the tournament and instruct the players to return when they grow up to finish the match. However, it is their fault the rest of the players will have rating delays because of their actions. Then do not close the tourney until they find an admin or HTD to preside over their adult match at a future time. 7a. FORMAL CHALLENGE. A formal challenge must be made thru the formal challenge feature on the home page. 7b. A formal challenge must be completed within 2 days - 48 hours of the challenge being made. Note: if players agree to play at a date or time longer than the 2 days then the challenge must be withdrawn and remade at the later time. 7c. A formal challenge must be attended by the challenger, the challengee, and in the event of a dispute or the players cannot agree upon the number of points for the match a referee (Admin or HTD) can be notified to oversee the match. 7d. Because a premium rank is at stake, a formal challenge is treated the same as a final match in a tournament. 7e. A formal match may be as little as 1 point or as many as the players agree on. If players cannot agree on a point value for the match then the points will be 3 and a referee will be called in to assist. 8. League Promotins will be brought to the league council (admins and/or Htd's) for vote prior to implementation.

    Top Ten
The purpose of the League is to climb to the top and the competition for the rungs in the Top Ten is high. As such, we have special rules that apply for members in the Top Ten.
    • Inactivity
      • Members in the Top Ten must play a League match at least once every 7 days; otherwise, you will be automatically dropped five rungs and your inactivity counter is reset. There are no exceptions to this rule.

    Expected Behavior
As a member of MyLeague, you are representing the League, the Admin staff, and all other members when you are participating on a MyLeague. It’s part of your responsibility as a member to act in a respectable manner within your League community.
    • Avatars
      • The rules of common decency should be followed when uploading images to use as avatars. Inappropriate avatars may be removed without warning or notification.
    • Cheating
      • If you believe your opponent is cheating, then you should contact the Admin staff.
    • Abuse
      • It is forbidden to abuse or harass another League member.
      • It is important to remember that two wrongs do not make a right. If you are being harassed by another League member, contact the Admin staff for assistance. Do not take matters into your own hands or return the abuse, or you could be penalized as well.
    • Nice Guy Rule
      • Please note that behavior guidelines govern all methods of communication. This includes chat, E-mail, message forums, instant messenger services, etc. Treat other members with respect!

    Fill in the Blank
Although we have tried to be as detailed as possible, we can’t cover every aspect of gaming in our rules. Please be advised that just because something is not stated in our rules and policies, then that does not mean it is allowed. Use common sense. If it is something that will adversely affect other members and you might think twice about it, then it’s probably against the rules. The Admin staff will have the final say in such matters. If you have a specific question please feel free to contact us via E-mail.
