Here at BG Addiction, we play many tournaments with regular backgammon, but the Hosts also play many tournaments with different variations of the game and with different rules to add to the fun!

Here is a list of the games we play, how to play them and the rules to follow. Pay close attention to the chat in the BG Addicts room at the start of a tourney or a round as the Host will announce the specific way to set your table.

Single Elimination
- Points are determined by the Host of the tourney.
- One loss and you are out of the tourney.

No Hit
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.
- If your match is more than one point you still set your table for 1 pt.
- GAMMONS AND CUBES DON’T COUNT IN NO HITS.

In this game you try to get your opponent to hit you. If your opponent hits you the game is over and you win. If neither of you hit each other then you keep playing until one of you has all your men off the board.

Twisted Swiss
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.
- Host will tell the players what type of game is going to be played for each round. e.g. Round 1 No Hit, Round 2 Regular, Round 3 Anti, etc.

Players keep playing until there is only one winner or if a True Swiss all the rounds are played.

99 cube
- Points for this game are set for 99.
- You play as a regular game but when a double is rolled you must cube before the next roll.
- YOU MAY NOT RESIGN OR REFUSE A CUBE AT ANYTIME.

This game does move quickly so don’t be afraid of the name.

Roulette
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.
- Host asks a player to call out a number 1-6 before the start of a round, let’s say 4 for example. If a player rolls a double 4 in that match then that player loses.
- Before each round a different player picks the new number.

Players Choice
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.

In this tourney the first person called in the pairings will set the table but the second person called in the pairings decides the type of tourney for example, reg., no hit, anti, lmm etc.

Snake Eyes
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney, but please have table set for 1 pt.

If a player rolls double 1’s (snake eyes) they win the point for that game. Easy as that.

Boxcar Willie
- This is normally a 1 point match but you can play more if the host chooses.
- The player who rolls the most double 6’s in a game wins the match.

For example if I rolled 5 double 6's and my opponent rolled 3 double 6's, then I win.

Pipeline
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.
- If more than 1 pt match set for 1 pt though.
- Players must complete a row of 6 consecutive spaces with only 2 men on them.

This is kind of like flatline but you must have your opponent blocked into your home for the win. So, in other words, you have your row of 6 with only 2 men on each and then have their men totally blocked in.

- You DO NOT HAVE TO FINISH THE ROLL.

Pip number
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.
- If more than 1 pt match please set for 1pt though.
- Before the start of each round the host gives the players a number. For example let’s say 91, the first player to hit 91 (you do not have to complete the roll) wins.
- If neither number hits the number then you finish like a regular game.

Double Elimination
- Points are determined by the Host of the tourney.
- There are upper bracket points and lower bracket points.
- You must lose twice before you are out of the tourney.
- If you are timed out of the upper you can still play the lower if you are back in time.

Swiss
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.

In a swiss you play all the rounds until there is only one undefeated player left.

True Swiss
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.
- The host also determines how many rounds are played in this type of swiss.

If a host sets 3 rounds all the players play 3 rounds, if a host sets 6 rounds then the players play 6 rounds. In this type of tourney there might be more than one winner.

Anti-gammon
- Normally this game is only 1 point and the host sets the time for the matches to 10 min.
- In this game you are playing to lose.
- The highest pip count at the end of the 10 minutes is the winner.
- You do not start playing until the host says START and you don’t stop playing until the host says STOP.
- No slow play or running timer out is allowed.

Progressive and Reverse Progressive
- Just like the name says each round the points progressively get larger. For example Round 1 2pts, Round 2 4 pts, Round 3 6pts, Finals 8 pts or whatever points the host determines to be suitable.

- Reverse Progressive is the exact opposite. The points start high and each round they get smaller.

Last Man Moves (LMM)
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.
- The last man furthest from your home moves the entire roll if possible.
- If you roll a 6-3 it doesn’t matter which number you move first as long as you move the furthest man from home.
- If your last man can’t make the entire move you must then split the roll between the next furthest man from your home.
- If you come of the bar and that man isn’t the furthest from your home you must then move the furthest one after coming down.

All this changes when you start bearing off the board.
- In your home you have to break up your roll.

For example if you roll a 5-2 and have men on your 6 spot, you must move 1 of the 6’s 5 spots down and then another 6 spot 2 spots down. Only pieces that can’t drop down can be removed.

You must have AUTO END OFF.

Flatline
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.
- If more than 1pt match set for 1 pt though.
- Players must complete a row of 6 consecutive spaces with only 2 men on them.
- This can happen anywhere on the board.

It looks a little like this on the board 888888.
- You DO NOT HAVE TO FINISH THE ROLL.

Twist
- Points are determined by the host of the tourney.
- In this tourney you go back and forth from regular to a no hit when doubles are rolled.

The game starts as a regular and on the first double rolled you switch to no hit, the next double rolled you are back to regular and so on and so on.

Craps
- If either player rolls any variation of a 7 or 11 they win that game. For example 11=7-4 and 7=2-5.
- If neither players rolls a 7 or 11 the game is continue as a regular game.
