In Loving Memory

Five years ago, some friends began a league together.
Brenda, Andy, Brat, and a couple others....They founded BratsPlaygrnd.
Others soon followed, Peg, Dazy, Kedra, and the small league began to grow.
Dj, Cat, Salli and Tupp to name a few.
Brat, had this idea of having a no drama, fun, friendly place to get together and play Pogo games.
Not a lot of heavy competition, or heavy handed rules.
Kick off your shoes, grab something to drink, your smokes, and
something to snack on and lets play, Brat would often say....and we did.
Friendships formed, and an online family began. Until the Playgrnd became what it is today.
Have there been ups and downs? Yes....growing pains?
Yes....the way any family has there ups and downs, but this is mostly about Brat, the lady to whom the league was named for.
Unfortunately we lost Brat in April of 2010. And we realize that some of you never got to meet her.
We are terribly sorry that you didn't. She was someone unique, kind hearted, oh and she was stubborn too!
She loved this league, the staff, the members as if we were her family.
She was proud of us, protective of us, and she was the glue that kept things running smoothly.
She had a temper, and a sense of humor. She was talented, curious, and a good leader.
She loved her daughters, and grandchildren, she was so very proud of them, and they her.
And all who knew her, miss her terribly. She was famous for her GRRRRRRR's
and many would do what they could to get her to GRRRR at them.
She had a way, of reaching out to people, who needed a little bit of extra kindness.
Of offering people a place to feel comfortable, relaxed, and generally liked.
And if she could share something with you, she willingly and happily did so,
many of us, owe Brat alot for teaching us, so many different things.
When Brat passed away. We came very close to closing the league.
It was, and still is so very hard to go on, without her here, to lead us.
I spoke with her daughters, both urged me to keep the League their Mother loved so much open.
And so I promised them both we would do our best, not only to keep BratsPlaygrnd open,
but to keep it, as much like she would have wanted as possible. And so we have gone on.
Sometimes am sure I can hear her GRRRRR at me, when something comes up, guiding hand am thinking.
We all owe her much, for taking the time to form this wonderful league.
As we celebrate BratsPlaygrnd's 5th Birthday, would ask that your remember the outstanding person,
who's name this league carries.
We miss you Brat, and Thank-You for beginning this awesome group of people.
