I have a question...

What is the point of playing slowly? Is it a psychological tactic?

Is it a strategy?

Or do people just do it to be irritating?

  just got to add that SL1 has the worst lag in the planet and most of the time slow play is due to that, your opp may be finding you play just as slow as you think they are so dont get to mad

    People dont always play slow on purpuse or for any strategic reasons. Just remember that its real people on the other side of the computer screens. Sometimes it may be simply that their phone rang, or doorbell rang, or a child needs smacked against the wall (hehe) or even that they went to potty. Sometimes a page froze on them or their computer is lagging. They could also be in more than one tourney (which is allowable as long as they can keep a steady pace).

    Expecting a steady pace from ur opponent is not really an unfair expectation but keep in mind that we are all not speed demons. Your opponent may not be as skilled at the game and is considering their next play.

    You will find some players who are very quick to play and others that might try ur patience for slow play. Just remember that no one is ALWAYS a fast player.

    Lastly, if a player is extremely and consistently being slow in ur tourney match, ask your td to the table. It sometimes helps :)
