Recently I received a Warning for an AFK Infraction. A player ranked 8 requested a game whilst I was ranked 8, perfectly within the Rules as they stand.
The player concerned was Toggles Ign {ignore) which all players are entitled to activate, in doing so, the player who is toggled Ign, there future posts in the Lobby will not be seen,, as this is also Legal and weas put in place by Mr Jeremy Case when these games were designed many years ago.
The problem arises that I remained in the Lobby and not away from the keyboard when the requesting player asked for a game, which would not be seen in the Lobby because they are placed on Ignore.
How a player can suggest that I was away from the keyboard and didnt answer their request because I couldnt see it is beyond me, as I was also in my right to remain in the Lobby tho I hadnt seen the request.
I wont suggest a Rule change to cover this as it is self explanatory to most of us, however, I will attempt to in future remain at a higher rank than the one to made the complaint.

    Enjoy your games
    cool

This is without a doubt 100% FALSE. Jeremy NEVER put this in place in any of the ladders. I mean let's look at the basic rules of the ladder. You can't refuse a lower rank request, you can't ask for games by messenger.

No offense but you of all people should know better as a former op on other ladders.

Who are you trying to kid here?

No where in the Rules does it state that if a player doesn't answer a challenge, that player may ne on Ignore, and therefore issuing a penalty for supposedly AFK is reading between the lines of the Rules, In this instance the Op M was wrong.

coopnf that doesn't make any sense at all. Just because you have someone on ignore does not mean you do not have to follow the rules. If that were the case why don't you just put everyone on ignore then you wouldn't have to worry about rules. You are like 0 for 2 or 3 on rules interpretation and you were an op in at least 2 rooms ???? Go figure

Coopnf, here you go again talking about rules and not really knowing the rules, you were that way on the 1 vs 2 rule and now you do not have a clue about the AFK rules. You are correct about the ignore, anyone can put any player on Ignore, however when it comes to a challenge you must respond. Lets just put it simple if someone challenges you, if you have them on ignore how are they to know you have them on IGNORE. So they report you and they have to send a screen shot to the op. The op sees the challenge but no response from yourself. So you are penalized, you tell the op you had the individual on IGNORE.. how do you prove to the op you had the person on ignore…. You can’t so technically you are AFK. The fact if putting anyone on IGNORE is no excuse for accepting or not accepting a challenge.
Coopnf I have come in the room and see where someone has challenged you and you give no response, in these cases you were nor reported but when someone does report you the op has no choice to to impose a penalty.
Coopnf I have a question for you. When you came in this room some 7-8 months ago you inquired about being a op also you recommend some rule changes most of which had been tried in another room and the room went belly up. You claimed at the time GD was broken due to the few people in the room not taking into account that cribbage is not a young peoples game… at least online crib. So I have a suggestion for you coopnf…. Why do you not form your own room then you can have the rules you want and I am sure you will have 20-30 people playing in the room in no time
Finally please understand the rules!! (Amended

I forgot one item you indicate you will attempt to stay at a HIGHER rank than the person who reported you. Actually you need to stay at a LOWER rank as the you can refuse the individuals request, if the person is a lower rank then you have to accept their challenge

Secondhand, there is nothing stopping he challenger, knowing they are on Ignore, from sending a request via messengers of which they are art of. Simple eh, but you are approaching 90 so dementia is setting in.
          P.S.
The Op Manager should have sought a response but didnt.

But assuming you are talking of some sort of private messenger here is a line direct from the rules section

It is forbidden to use any type of Instant Messenger Service (ICQ, YIM, AIM, etc.) to request a match.

The fact is coopnf if you do not respond to a challenge you are considered AFK end of story
