* * * * * TOURNAMENT RULES * * * * *
BE SURE TO SET BOTH THE GAME DIFFICULTY AND SWING TYPE TO *ALL*
SWING TYPE:
Starting Monday the 11th of April that for tournament play only that the control method will be 3 click and true swing only. If you play ladder matches you will be able to play all control methods. The control method for 3 click and true swing will be by honor system during the tournaments, if a club member does use the 2 click during the tournament he will be disqualified from future tournaments.
CONCERNING TOURNAMENT AUDIO
The person setting the game MUST check (in the advanced settings when setting a match) the box for USE TOURNAMENT AUDIO and set the TOURNAMENT ATMOSPHERE to PGA TOUR. The reason for this: If the person setting the game does not have these options enabled, no one in the game will have the commentary if they want it. If you are the "setter" and don't want the commentary - set it with those options enabled and turn your own commentary volume down. IF YOU ARE THE SETTER AND IT IS NOTICED ON THE FIRST HOLE OF ANY MATCH THAT THE COMMENTARY IS NOT ENABLED, YOUR OPPONENT HAS THE OPTION OF HAVING THE MATCH RESET WITH THE AUDIO ON. IF YOU FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE RESET REQUEST OR YOU RESET THE GAME AND STILL FAIL TO ENABLE THESE OPTIONS, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM FURTHER PARTICIPATION IN THE TOURNEY AND WILL BE RECORDED WITH A LOSS FOR THE IMPROPERLY SET MATCH.
CONCERNING CONCEDING HOLES
IMPORTANT: DO NOT concede holes during the match (THIS MEANS CLICK NO WHEN THE QUESTION COMES UP ON YOUR SCREEN AS TO WHETHER YOU WANT TO CONCEDE). In spite of what some players believe, this CAN, DOES & HAS caused games to crash. If a player concedes a hole, WHETHER IT CAUSES THE GAME TO CRASH OR NOT, the player who conceded the hole will get a loss for the game that was being played (regardless of game score) and will be ineligible to participate in subsequent rounds of the tourney (such as the case with Swiss tourneys).
TIEBREAKER RULES
There will be a MAXIMUM OF 2 tiebreaker holes played in any given match in any given round of the tourney.
The first tiebreaker hole will be played as normal. In the event the match is still tied at the end of the first tiebreaker hole. The game will then be reset to a one hole match play game, this will be the closest to the pin hole and determine the winner of the game. [IF SOMEONE WINS THE FIRST TIEBREAKER HOLE, THE MATCH IS OVER] and the tie will be broken by closest to pin on the following basis:
• The shot # to be used to determine closest-to-pin will be the shot that first places either player (or team) on the green. This could be the tee shot if either player (or team) reaches the green in 1 (this is applicable regardless of whether hole is par 3, 4 or in rare instances, a par 5). In most cases, this will be the tee shot on par 3's, and the 2nd shot on par 4's (could be tee shot on short par 4) & 5's (of course there are some par 5's not reachable in 2).
• For the purpose of this rule, the -fringe- IS NOT considered part of the green.
• If one person is on the green and the other is not, the person on the green wins regardless of how close the person not on the green is to the pin.
WHO SETS GAME
Player listed on the TOP-SIDE of the bracket (SE/DE tourneys) sets the game & player listed on the LEFT-SIDE of the pairing (SWISS/TRUE SWISS tourneys) sets the game.
NOTE: The rule for who sets the game is permitted to be reversed upon agreement of BOTH INVOLVED game parties.
ROUND SETTINGS
The conditions shown for each round shown within a tourney apply only if the shown round is actually played (as you know, the actual number of rounds for a tourney, regardless of how many are shown, are automatically adjusted based on the number of entries in the tourney [the ONLY exception to this is True-Swiss Tourneys, where all listed rounds are played regardless of the number of entries])
CHIPPING ON GREENS
There is to be NO CHIPPING ON GREENS with ONE EXCEPTION:
Chipping on a green IS PERMITTED if and only if there is a -non-green- surface (fringe, fairway, sand, rough, water, etc) that is present in a DIRECT STRAIGHT LINE between where your ball lies and the cup.
Alternate Shot Format Rules:
When setting alternate shot tournaments the new rule goes as follows: If you begin a tournament with a partner and for any reason you or your partner losses connection, has computer problems, or experiencing hamachi problems, etc. You will have 10 minutes to try and locate another partner to substitute; if you can not find another partner then you must forfeit your round and let the tournament continue. Note: If this does occur the person who replaces the other partners teammate he will not recieve the ladder stats, all ladder stats will go to the person who lost connection.
Note:
The rule for who sets the game is permitted to be reversed upon agreement of BOTH INVOLVED game parties. Footnote # 1 : The person who sets the game the opponent will have 5 minutes to join the game and vice versa, if you are unable to join during the alotted time of 10 minutes the person who is listed on the top of the bracket will be advanced to the next round. Footnote # 2 : Connection Status problems on Hamachi server, if during your round you or your opponent loses connection you or your opponent will have a total of 2 times to re-establish connection to complete the round. If you or your opponent fails to reconnect on the second time you or your opponent will forfiet the match. This will help in facilitating the rounds and speed up the tournament and avoid other players waiting for the next round of the tournament to begin. Sidenote: If you or your opponent has played 3 holes or less reset the the match for 9 holes if you or your opponent have played more than 3 holes reset the match for 3 holes.
