MyLeague has one of the simplest ranking systems ever used for competitive play. The concept was adopted from the ranking system used on the official Case’s Ladders. We call it a "Ladder" because each member holds a unique rank or "rung" that represents their standing among other members. The highest-ranked member holds the #1 Ladder position; for example, someone ranked #2 is ranked below the #1 member. The goal is to "climb" the Ladder all the way to the top!
- When you first join, you are placed in an “Unranked” category on the League.
- You become "Ranked" after winning your first League match. (Unranked members may play each other, and the winner becomes ranked at the bottom of the League.)
-
When you defeat a higher-ranked member, you move up in rank 50% the distance between their rank and your own.
- Example: If you are ranked #50 and you beat the #1 ranked member, then your new rank would be 25.
-
Your rank on the League does not go down if you lose a match unless your opponent is ranked DIRECTLY below you.
- Example: If you are ranked #5 and the #6 ranked member defeats you, then your new rank would be #6.
-
When members ranked below you are victorious against members ranked above you, it's possible the member will jump over you in rank and you will move down one rung. This depends on the ranks involved.
- Example(per 50% rank gain) :You are currently ranked #7. If the #10 ranked member defeats the #1 ranked member, then #10 will advance to the #5 rung and you will fall to the #8 rung.

League Names
- If your League name is deemed offensive or contains profanity, your account may be removed.
- If your League name is deemed abusive towards another member, your account may be removed.
- You can edit your League name by using the ‘My Account’ tab and choosing the ‘Edit Username’ option. If you have problems changing your League name, please use the ‘Contact Admin’ link, located on the 'Support' tab.
-
E-mail Address
- Your E-mail address must be kept current at all times, in case you need to be contacted. You can use the 'Edit E-mail Address' link on the 'My Account' tab to edit your E-mail address.
-
Password Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
- You are not permitted to share your password with anyone for any reason.
-
Inactivity
- In order to keep the League as dynamic as possible, your account will be automatically deleted if you are inactive for 255 days. However, one of the features of our Premium Membership Program is never being deleted for inactivity. Information regarding our Premium Membership Program can be found here .
-
Multiple Accounts
- Only one account is allowed per person. There are no exceptions to this rule.
- It is forbidden for more than one person to use or share the same account.
- Multiple accounts from the same location will be investigated and possibly removed.
-
Chat
- The best way to find League matches is to announce in chat that you are looking for a League match so that other members will know you are interested in League-play. You can also directly challenge a specific member in chat.
-
Formal Challenges
- Most Leagues permit the use of Formal Challenges. A complete overview of the Formal Challenge system can be found here .
-
5 time(s) Per Day
- You may play the same member 5 time(s) per day. However, you may play as many different members as you would like on any given day. A “MyLeague” day begins at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
-
Verify Information
- We recommend you ensure a potential opponent is also a member of the League before starting your match. You can do this very easily by searching for your opponent using the 'Search for Players' tool.
-
Opponents
- You are not allowed to report losses to another member that also plays from the same computer as you. Our security software will detect this activity if it is attempted, and participating accounts may be penalized or removed.
-
Sportsmanship
- The same rules that apply to behavior in chat (covered in a later section) also apply during matches.
-
Reporting the Loss
- In one-on-one matches, the loser of the match reports the loss to the winner.
- In partner matches, each member of the losing team reports a loss to both partners of the winning team. At the end of the match, you would either gain two wins or report two losses.
- In “free for all” matches (matches in which multiple opponents are competing against each other without partners), each loser of the match must report a loss to one overall winner.
- When playing matches with more than one opponent, it is important for losses to be reported in the proper order if rank will be affected by the order of report. You must report to the better-ranked opponent first in those cases. It is your responsibility to make sure you report in the correct order when necessary. Not doing so may result in penalty.
-
Unreported Matches
- If your opponent does not report their loss within one hour after completing the match or prior to starting another match, you should click on the “Contact Admin” link and then use the “Unreported Match” form.
-
Inactivity
- Members in the Top Ten must play a League match at least once every 255 days; otherwise, you will be automatically dropped five rungs and your inactivity counter is reset. There are no exceptions to this rule.
-
Avatars
- The rules of common decency should be followed when uploading images to use as avatars. Inappropriate avatars may be removed without warning or notification.
-
Cheating
- If you believe your opponent is cheating, then you should contact the Admin staff.
-
Abuse
- It is forbidden to abuse or harass another League member.
- It is important to remember that two wrongs do not make a right. If you are being harassed by another League member, contact the Admin staff for assistance. Do not take matters into your own hands or return the abuse, or you could be penalized as well.
-
Nice Guy Rule
- Please note that behavior guidelines govern all methods of communication. This includes chat, E-mail, message forums, instant messenger services, etc. Treat other members with respect!
Account Rules
Challenges
Note: Please consult the Admin staff regarding whether or not League challenges are permitted for this League. A challenge is defined as a request for a match with a higher-ranked member. Whether you are the challenger or the one being challenged, there are some rules that must be followed. Violating these rules may result in penalties. If you notice anyone violating these rules, please contact the Admin staff.
Playing a Match
Once you are ready to start playing a League match, there are some guidelines governing game play that you should keep in mind.
Reporting the Match
Once your match is completed, the loser of the match is responsible for reporting the loss immediately. You can report your matches using the 'Report Loss' button located on the 'Standings' tab. Please note the ‘Report Loss’ link should only be used for League matches and not for tournament matches; you should consult the TD with any questions regarding reporting tournament matches. If you have any problems reporting a loss, you should contact the Admin staff and request assistance.
Tournaments
The rules for a Tournament are determined by the Tournament Director hosting the event. You will find a summary of each individual Tournament, including a Rules page, if you follow the link for that specific Tournament.
League-Specific Rules
EUCHREVILLE RULES
*1 - BEHAVIOR AND LANGUAGE*
We are in EUCHREVILLE to have fun while playing euchre. Be respectful to all. This means that
a) you don’t swear or use foul language in the lobby or at a game table,
b) you don’t badger or question a player's playing tactics during a game or in the lobby,
c) you’re not aggressive towards anyone in the lounge or at the tables,
d) you don’t use offensive language or have conversations which are considered offensive in the lobby or at the tables. *2 - TD DECISIONS*
TDs donate their time and energy to host tourneys for you, sometimes when they would prefer to be playing. They don’t get paid to do it. They do it because they want you to have fun. Please understand that sometimes things will escape them and that they do the best that they can in all situations.
a) During a tourney, all decisions are made by the TD who is running it. The TD'S decision is final so please respect this.
DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE TD.
b) Every member of the staff will abide by the decision made by the TD who is in charge of the tourney and will not question it unless it is related to the tourney administration. If such a situation arises, the problem will be signaled to the TD in private. If the TD is unavailable, signal the problem to an admin or a head TD.
c) The TD decides on the type of seeding used for any tourney.
d) Running a tournament requires concentration and may be stressful at times. If you do not agree with a TD’s decision, you can discuss it with the TD, a HTD or an admin after a tournament.
*3 - LEAGUE ID AND EMAIL*
a) You are allowed one single ID for the league. If you are found to have more than one ID, you will be asked which you want to keep and the other or others will be removed.
b) The ID under which you play in a tournament must exactly match your Euchreville ladder ID. If both IDs do not match, you will be DQ from the game and from the tournament in which you registered. Your registration fee will not be refunded.
c) When you enter the lobby, you should be using your league Id. This is our only way to identify you as a member and will guarantee that no errors are made at the tables.
d) Cases clearly states that "If your ladder name is offensive to other users or contains profanity, your account will be removed."
In Euchreville your league Id must comply with our language rules.
e) Since our only way to communicate with you is through e-mail, you must have a valid e-mail to play in the league. If your e-mail is not valid, you will be asked to correct it. If you do not want to receive league correspondence, tell us and we will respect that.
*4 - MORE THAN ONE PLAYER IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD*
a) If there is more than one player in the household, you must tell a member of admin team.
*5 - PLAYING A TOURNEY*
a) Players must be in the lobby at the beginning of a round. If a player is not in the lobby and does not go to the table to which he or she is called, a 5 minute timer will be started. If the player does not show up at the end of the 5 minutes, that player will be DQ’d.
b) When starting your game please turn Kibitz off.
c) A player is not allowed to play at 2 tables or in 2 tourneys at the same time. This means that if you are registered for a tourney and your game is coming up, you cannot sub.
d) You may play in a non-tourney game (as long as it is not Cases) while waiting for your tourney game to be called. If called you must leave your game and respond to the invitation at once. Failure to leave a non-tourney game when called to play will result in your immediate disqualification from the tourney. You may refuse to sub at any time.
e) You may not play in 2 tourneys in 2 different leagues at the same time. This is unfair to your partner and unfair to all other members who are playing at the table and in the tourney. If it is discovered that you are doing this you will be disqualified from the tourney.
*6 - PLAYING A GAME IN A TOURNEY*
a) All regular euchre games are played on rated and protected tables. If the game is Stick the Dealer the table must also be STD. The TD must be invited to the table.
b) No multitasking during games. We want to keep the games moving and will not keep our members waiting. If you are holding up the game, you will be asked if there’s a problem. If you do not answer, your ping will be checked. If this is good, a timer will be started every time you hold up the game. You will be disqualified from the tourney at the end of 8 cumulative minutes of wait time. The rare exception to this are for members of the staff if they are dealing with a league matter. If this is the case, the players will be told.
c) Pairings for a tourney will always be posted in the lobby. The first person named in the first pairing is responsible for making the table and inviting partner, opponents and TD.
d) The first pair called in the pairings has first choice of seats.
e) Loners are not allowed on a score of 8 or 9. Calling a loner on 8 or 9 will be considered a mistake and will result in skipping. If the dealer or the dealer’s partner makes the mistake, skip once. If the opposition makes a mistake, skip twice. This rule is not valid in a game of ¨Loners only¨.
e) You will be dq from a tourney on the 2nd mistake.
*7 - BOOTED DURING A GAME*
a) Any player has a cumulative wait time of 8 minutes during a tourney. This is reduced to 5 minutes if the player does not respond at the beginning of a round.
b) If a player is booted during a game, please advise the TD and a timer will be set for that person. The booted player will be given 8 minutes to return to the table or whatever time is left on the timer if he has already used some time. At the end of the 8 minutes, the booted member will be DQ’d and the booted player’s partner will be asked to choose a sub to finish the game. The game will continue to determine the winner. The booted players opponent will auto-advance to the next round.
c) If the “Cancel game, wait or forfeit” warning comes up after 3 minutes, always click on WAIT. If the “force forfeit button” is clicked by a member by error, a new game will be started at the same table and the score will start from the score that the forfeit game ended. The TD will keep score and the first team to get to 10 will be declared the winning team.
d) If a sub is booted during a game the sub’s partner will chose a new sub and the game will continue unless a cases game is being played. If the sub loses ping and does not return he will be booted at the end of 3 minutes and replaced by another sub. In a cases game subs will be allowed the full 8 minutes before being DQ’d.
*8 - TIMED GAMES*
a) The estimated time allotted for a game is 20 minutes. We encourage you to have fun, therefore, in general games will not be timed unless play is too slow or a tourney is running late. Please remember that our wish is to keep a tourney moving and to ensure that members do not wait for unreasonable periods of time for their turn to play. If the TD asks you for fast play, understand that there is a reason and comply with his or her request.
b) If a tourney or a game is to be timed the TD will announce it at the beginning of the tourney or at the beginning of a round.
b)If a timed game is not complete at the end of the 20 minutes, the team that is ahead will be declared the winner. If at the end of the 20 minutes the game is tied, the next hand will be played and whoever wins the hand will be declared the winner.
*9 - SUBS AND SUB GAMES*
a) Subs are requested at the euchre table and not in the lobby.
b) If a sub is needed the first person called has first choice of subs. When choosing a sub, you may choose any member of Euchreville who is in the lobby.
c) The TD is not allowed to sub unless there are no other league members present in the lobby.
d) If a player is asked to sub, he or she may refuse. If the player refuses, he or she will not be allowed to sub for another player in that match.
e) Bots may never be used as subs unless playing a bot game.
*10 - CASES GAMES AND REPORTING*
a) If there are 2 subs in a game (initial game or final game of a tourney), subs may choose to play a Cases Ladder match by informing the TD. The player who loses the game will be asked to report the loss at the end of the match.
b) If you lose a Case’s game, the loss MUST be reported as soon as you can after the match. This helps to keep the league statistics and standings correct. The winner of a Case’s game should allow his or her opponent enough time to report the game and then check the daily standings to make sure this has happened. If the game hasn’t been reported, please contact your opponent in IM and kindly remind them to report. Always be polite, nice and show common courtesy. If there’s a problem and the game has not been reported after 24 hours, contact a member of the staff. We will be happy to help you.
*11 - CRAZY GAMES*
The rules for any Crazy game will always be posted by the TD before the game begins. The Game will be spammed as rated or unrated.
*12 - PARTNER TOURNEYS*
Partner tourneys run with the same rules as individual tourneys except for the following :
1- Both players must click start within 5 minutes of the start of the game or the Team is disqualified (DQD) and
2- A team (both members together) will have a maximum of 10 minutes total for freeze time, delays and MIA. After 10 minutes the team will be dqd. This ten minutes will include any time that elapsed before both players clicked start.
*POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES OF A BREACH TO THE RULES*
The rules are in place to insure that all enjoy playing in Euchreville. A breach of the rules will lead to one or to possibly all of the following actions :
a) A private conference with the members involved and members of the staff and admin team.
b) A warning which is noted in the players notes.
c) A box, the length of time of which will depend on the seriousness of the offense.
d) A banning from the league.
If you have any questions regarding these rules please feel free to contact any member of the Staff and we will be happy to listen and adjust if necessary. Thank you for playing in Euchreville and have fun at the tables !
Top Ten
The purpose of the League is to climb to the top and the competition for the rungs in the Top Ten is high. As such, we have special rules that apply for members in the Top Ten.
Expected Behavior
As a member of MyLeague, you are representing the League, the Admin staff, and all other members when you are participating on a MyLeague. It’s part of your responsibility as a member to act in a respectable manner within your League community.
Fill in the Blank
Although we have tried to be as detailed as possible, we can’t cover every aspect of gaming in our rules. Please be advised that just because something is not stated in our rules and policies, then that does not mean it is allowed. Use common sense. If it is something that will adversely affect other members and you might think twice about it, then it’s probably against the rules. The Admin staff will have the final say in such matters. If you have a specific question please feel free to contact us via E-mail.
