MyLeague has one of the simplest ranking systems ever used for competitive play. The concept was adopted from the ranking system used on the official Case’s Ladders. We call it a "Ladder" because each member holds a unique rank or "rung" that represents their standing among other members. The highest-ranked member holds the #1 Ladder position; for example, someone ranked #2 is ranked below the #1 member. The goal is to "climb" the Ladder all the way to the top!
- When you first join, you are placed in an “Unranked” category on the League.
- You become "Ranked" after winning your first League match. (Unranked members may play each other, and the winner becomes ranked at the bottom of the League.)
-
When you defeat a higher-ranked member, you move up in rank 50% the distance between their rank and your own.
- Example: If you are ranked #50 and you beat the #1 ranked member, then your new rank would be 25.
-
Your rank on the League does not go down if you lose a match unless your opponent is ranked DIRECTLY below you.
- Example: If you are ranked #5 and the #6 ranked member defeats you, then your new rank would be #6.
-
When members ranked below you are victorious against members ranked above you, it's possible the member will jump over you in rank and you will move down one rung. This depends on the ranks involved.
- Example(per 50% rank gain) :You are currently ranked #7. If the #10 ranked member defeats the #1 ranked member, then #10 will advance to the #5 rung and you will fall to the #8 rung.

League Names
- If your League name is deemed offensive or contains profanity, your account may be removed.
- If your League name is deemed abusive towards another member, your account may be removed.
- You can edit your League name by using the ‘My Account’ tab and choosing the ‘Edit Username’ option. If you have problems changing your League name, please use the ‘Contact Admin’ link, located on the 'Support' tab.
-
E-mail Address
- Your E-mail address must be kept current at all times, in case you need to be contacted. You can use the 'Edit E-mail Address' link on the 'My Account' tab to edit your E-mail address.
-
Password Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
- You are not permitted to share your password with anyone for any reason.
-
Inactivity
- In order to keep the League as dynamic as possible, your account will be automatically deleted if you are inactive for 120 days. However, one of the features of our Premium Membership Program is never being deleted for inactivity. Information regarding our Premium Membership Program can be found here .
-
Multiple Accounts
- Only one account is allowed per person. There are no exceptions to this rule.
- It is forbidden for more than one person to use or share the same account.
- Multiple accounts from the same location will be investigated and possibly removed.
-
Chat
- The best way to find League matches is to announce in chat that you are looking for a League match so that other members will know you are interested in League-play. You can also directly challenge a specific member in chat.
-
Formal Challenges
- Most Leagues permit the use of Formal Challenges. A complete overview of the Formal Challenge system can be found here .
-
3 time(s) Per Day
- You may play the same member 3 time(s) per day. However, you may play as many different members as you would like on any given day. A “MyLeague” day begins at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
-
Verify Information
- We recommend you ensure a potential opponent is also a member of the League before starting your match. You can do this very easily by searching for your opponent using the 'Search for Players' tool.
-
Opponents
- You are not allowed to report losses to another member that also plays from the same computer as you. Our security software will detect this activity if it is attempted, and participating accounts may be penalized or removed.
-
Sportsmanship
- The same rules that apply to behavior in chat (covered in a later section) also apply during matches.
-
Reporting the Loss
- In one-on-one matches, the loser of the match reports the loss to the winner.
- In partner matches, each member of the losing team reports a loss to both partners of the winning team. At the end of the match, you would either gain two wins or report two losses.
- In “free for all” matches (matches in which multiple opponents are competing against each other without partners), each loser of the match must report a loss to one overall winner.
- When playing matches with more than one opponent, it is important for losses to be reported in the proper order if rank will be affected by the order of report. You must report to the better-ranked opponent first in those cases. It is your responsibility to make sure you report in the correct order when necessary. Not doing so may result in penalty.
-
Unreported Matches
- If your opponent does not report their loss within one hour after completing the match or prior to starting another match, you should click on the “Contact Admin” link and then use the “Unreported Match” form.
- Top Ladder Players: As this is a very active league, we expect our top
ladder players to be active daily. Everyone wants a shot at number 1, so there
should be a lot of activity and movement in the top ranks of the Ladder. Players
in the top 10 must play daily, or they risk losing their position in rank.
Top players should be available to play every day and should prioritize game
requests based on the ranks closest to them on the Ladder. For example, if both
number 2 and number 3 ask number 1 for a game, number 1 should play number 2 first,
and so on, whenever possible.
Number 1 has the most responsibilities of all ranks. Adhering to the rules
associated with the number 1 position takes priority over all activities in the
League, whether it is hosting tourneys, playing in tourneys, etc. Non-tourney
game requests (ML games) come first above all. Obviously, if you are a TD hosting
a tourney, and someone comes in asking for a game, you cannot abandon the tourney
you are running, or those you have scheduled to honor the request. However, you
should make every effort to honor it before leaving femur. If you receive a game
request while you are playing in a tourney, you are not expected to concede in the
tourney. Rather, you can inform the player who is requesting the game that you
will play him as soon as you are out of the tourney(s).
If it is found that you are purposely playing higher ranks when ranks closer to
yours have requested a game and they are present, or you are avoiding playing games
at all to keep your spot, this will be considered manipulation, and you will be
immediately removed from the top position(s).
There is potential for a lot of additional pressure when playing in the top. If
you find that you are unable to meet the requirements associated with your
position, or the pressure is too much, just let us know and we will take you out to
a more comfortable spot on the ladder.
ml.games are to be played in femur.
- Playing in multiple tourneys: Players may participate in multiple myleague/everyone tourneys at the same time as long as a reasonable pace is kept. The 10 minute timer is reserved for those players who are experiencing connection problems. Those players who are in Femur, and who have a good ping, but are delaying tourneys by either not making a table when pairings are announced or not accepting invites, are subject to a 5 minute timer. While playing, Tournament Directors will issue a warning to good pinged players who are not keeping a reasonable pace. A good pace is 20 sec a move . If delays are consistent and warnings are ignored, the slow player is subject to disqualification.
This rule does not include those tourneys scheduled to start at the same time. For example, the "non-TOC" is scheduled each week adjacent to the TOC. The non-TOC is created in order to provide a tourney for players who do not qualify to register for the TOC.
Players may not join both.
Another example would be when two tourneys are created adjacent to one another, 1 with an entry fee of 25 ladderbux, and the other 100 ladderbux.
Players may join both.
We create adjacent tourneys in order to provide a tourney for everyone. Those who cannot afford a 100 bux entry fee have the option of joining the 25 bux entry fee tourney. We do this in order to accommodate all players in any given time slot.
- Non-tourney versus tourney games & Reporting losses: We cannot allow regular games to be played at same time as tourney(s) as we expect losses to be reported immediately after each match. Therefore, we cannot allow the delays that the reporting process sometimes poses, nor can we allow players to be slow in reporting losses because they are in tourney play. The standard Cases 24-hour report loss rule is reserved for those players who are experiencing connection problems. Players who do not report their losses immediately after each game are subject to suspension from play.
- Force forfeiting your opponent is not allowed in tournaments or in regular league games unless authorized by the TD or an Admin.
If your opponent gets booted you are expected to wait the traditional 10 minutes, allowing your opponent the time to reboot and rejoin the match. If your opponent does not return, you are then expected to invite another member or player (preferably a TD) to assist you in cancelling the match. The only exception to this rule is if the point spread suggests an obvious win/loss (80% differential). In these cases the TD will allow the survivor to force forfeit his/her opponent after the full 10 minute timer has elapsed. Whether your opponent has been booted or has left the game deliberately to preserve his/her yahoo rating, the result of loss is the same. Therefore, no player should object to this rule.
- Cheating in Partner Tourneys
Cheating will not be tolerated in any way. Telling your partner what you have in your hand is classed as cheating and anyone caught doing so will be disqualified from the tourney and face suspension from League play (boxed).
- Choosing Games for Challenges
Ideally we would think that when a challenge is received, the game to be played can be agreed upon between the 2 players involved, but this is not always the case. In the event that a game cannot be agreed to, you will need to play the best of 3 games. The games to be played are 9/250 Reg, 6/250 Reg and 6/100 Cuban which can be played in any order.
- Same Household Players
Players playing from the same household may not pard, may not join random pard tourneys, and may not oppose each other in regular non-tourney games. They may, however, join regular tourneys.
- Bashing of the league, tds or members
- "Bashing of the league, tds or members will not be tolerated in ANY forum. If you are unhappy, you are free to leave. We will not continue to sit back and make tourneys for players who feel the need to disrespect the league and all the work the team puts into it."

Account Rules
Challenges
Note: Please consult the Admin staff regarding whether or not League challenges are permitted for this League. A challenge is defined as a request for a match with a higher-ranked member. Whether you are the challenger or the one being challenged, there are some rules that must be followed. Violating these rules may result in penalties. If you notice anyone violating these rules, please contact the Admin staff.
Playing a Match
Once you are ready to start playing a League match, there are some guidelines governing game play that you should keep in mind.
Reporting the Match
Once your match is completed, the loser of the match is responsible for reporting the loss immediately. You can report your matches using the 'Report Loss' button located on the 'Standings' tab. Please note the ‘Report Loss’ link should only be used for League matches and not for tournament matches; you should consult the TD with any questions regarding reporting tournament matches. If you have any problems reporting a loss, you should contact the Admin staff and request assistance.
Tournaments
The rules for a Tournament are determined by the Tournament Director hosting the event. You will find a summary of each individual Tournament, including a Rules page, if you follow the link for that specific Tournament.
