Euchre Freaks Club
Getting Started
Now that you’re a member of the League, you’re probably wondering how to start competing in tournaments. Well, you’ve come to the right place!

What is a League?
MyLeagues are powered by Case’s Ladder, but are managed and maintained by private individuals.

MyLeague offers dozens of statistics, dedicated message forums, live chat, hot/cold streaks, premium membership options, skill ratings, and much more.

League Admins
A MyLeague is owned and managed by the Head Admin. The Head Admin has the final decision for regular operations of the League, determines the rules for their League, and has complete autonomy over how the League is managed. Head Admins may appoint other Admins to assist with managing the League. A list of the League Admins is located on the Home tab.

If you experience problems or have any questions about the League, then you should contact the League Admins by clicking on the "Contact Admins" link located on the Support tab.

Where to Play
The League you joined may offer League matches and/or tournament matches. The matches are played at a gaming site, such as Yahoo or Pogo, and then the results of the matches are posted to the League and your stats on the League are automatically updated.

The gaming site that your League plays at is displayed on the League’s Home tab. You will need to create a separate account at the gaming site if you do not already have one.

Typically, gaming sites provide several game rooms for the games at their site, so you will need to find which game is played on the League you joined and which game room the League uses for their matches. This information can usually be found on the League’s Home tab, or you can use the Contact Admin link on the Support tab to ask the League Admin(s).

Tournaments
A tournament is a short-term competition with a scheduled beginning and a specific end. When a tournament begins, each player is paired up with an opponent (or more than one opponent, depending on the format of the tournament). Tournaments can be for “LadderStats”, in which case the results are reported to the League and stats are automatically updated.

For a complete list of tournaments for your League, visit the Tournament Calendar located on the Tournaments tab. You can access the page for a specific tournament by clicking on the jump number. Once you have selected the tournament you would like to join, the information for that tournament will be listed under the 'Tournament Info' heading.

For more information about tournaments, please visit our list of Common Questions on the Support tab, or contact an Admin on the League.

Special Rules For Freaks

ALL GAMES WILL BE STD UNLESS RULES
STATE OTHERWISE

SUBS - If a sub is needed for any round (except final round) other then Finals, the TD calls for ANY LEAGUE MEMBER TO SUB (they do not have to be registered for the tourney). THE PLAYERS MAY NOT REQUEST CERTAIN SUBS (remember we seed randomly, and subs should also be chosen randomly). SUBS MAY SIT ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. Players must allow the first sub that sits to play. If a player disconnects, subs will be put in as soon as the Pogo table allows a sub to sit. To keep the tourneys moving and on schedule, a bot must be used until a sub can sit. The finalists are allowed to choose a partner of their choice!

DISCONNECTION- If you are disconnected, you will be allowed 10 minutes to return to your game. If you return within 10 minutes you will continue to play. IF the game has ended before your 10 mins has expired you will advance to the next round. The clock stops when play stops. When new round begins, new clock begins. If you disconnect or "poof" 3 times during a tour you will be disqualified from said tour.

RATED GAMES If you are playing a RATED GAME when a tournament begins, you will be called to your table. If you do not go to the table, you will be timed 5 MINUTES. At the end of 5 minutes, if you have not gone to the table you will be DISQUALIFIED from the tournament.

TOURNAMENT TABLE SEATING -The Tournament Host will call you to your table. If you do not sit to start the game within 3 minutes, the 10 minute Timer Clock will start on you and a random sub or a bot will replace you. If you are playing a ladder game you must finish the ladder game later (take note of score) and start your tournament game.

ABUSE SPORTSMANSHIP-Respect All Players and Hosts- If you have an 'Opinion' about a hand played or a game that went awry, tell it to your dog or cat. Attacking someone with the intent to hurt them in any way may get you disqualified from the tournament, at the discretion of the Host of the Tourney.

ALONE ON 9 POINTS-This is NOT allowed in tournaments!

-You are allowed to 'Go Alone' on 8 points but you will be disqualified if you go alone with 9! Sometimes it is necessary to go alone on 8 points so that your partner doesn't trump the first trick (you may need the lead for 2nd trick!), thereby messing up your chance for 2 points and the win.
DO NOT 'GO ALONE' WITH 9 POINTS! It is disrespectful to the other team and your partner to go alone with 9 points. If you go alone on 9 points you will be automatically disqualified from the tournament, even if it was a mistake.
If a member goes alone on 9 points, the Host must be called to the table so they can witness the end result of the hand.
If a point is made, the partner gets credit for the win and is declared the winner of the game. The partner that went alone will be automatically be disqualified and his direct oppononent will advance as the 2nd winner of that game.

HARASSMENT GUIDELINES
"Occasionally there are people in the lobby that make it their lifes goal to upset us. These type of people have a need for 'attention' and will say things for the sole purpose of 'getting our goat'. Don't fall for it....as a member we ask you to NOT ANSWER the abuse, and just mute them. This approach has proven to work! The abuser will leave if they get NO response from anyone! The Host will ask you to MUTE. Please follow our lead! You are encouraged to report the abuser to Pogo. If you cannot resist temptation and you lower yourself to the abusers level or say something inappropriate, you will be breaking the rules of this league and will have to accept the consequences of your actions. You may find yourself disqualified from a tournament, or have your account boxed for abuse. We strive to keep the lobby a stress free environment for everyone, including non league members. We do not 'own' the Orange Roughy room, we simply share it with Pogo members. Our staff is trained to handle abuse but our approach will not work without your cooperation.
