USE COMMON SENSE! Generally, this is self explainatory but it has been our experience that common sense is not a given, but more of a gift. With that being said, we're going to make it more clear:
We are a social league. There are many topics of conversation that may arise at any time. There are a few things that are taboo and will not be allowed. They are:
ANY discussion about politics
ANY discussion about religion
There are many opinions, views and beliefs and people are passionate about them. More often than not, these conversations are referred to as political or religious 'debates'. For that reason, we will not allow these types of conversations to take place in lobby.
We don't filter much language. Racial slurs are not acceptable. Excessive profanity is not acceptable. Do not use any language in a derrogatory manner. Any words aimed at a person for the intent of causing harm or insult are not acceptable.
Any disagreement or argument is to be kept out of lobby. Take it to YM. There are many players that are uncomfortable watching an exchange of low blows and petty bickering/arguing. Any discussion that is beyond the scope of social conversation MUST be taken ANYWHERE other than the lobby. If you don't have YM, set up a private table and invite the person you need to speak with.
If you cannot resolve the issue that way, contact a member of staff through the
appropriate chain of command. This rule is applicable to members and staff alike. If
you fail to follow this rule, you will be warned! You will get only one warning. Any
additional offense will result in boxing or removal from League.
Table manners are to be used at all times, no exceptions. Failure to do so may
result in boxing or removal from league. Table manners include but are not limited
to:
nh (nice hand) gh (good hand) gg (good game)
ty (thank you) yw (you’re welcome) glir(good luck in round)
You may compete in multiple tournaments at a time as long as the tournament pace
is not significantly impacted. While playing in a tournament, you may not play in
any non-league games at the same time. No exceptions! When rules are announced in
lobby, you should immediately forfeit or request a cancel for any game that you are
still playing. Failure to do so may result in boxing or removal from League.
The Gindicate is a home. We understand that you may have friends in other
leagues! Gindicate members are allowed to be in multiple gin leagues. TD's can be in
multiple gin leagues but may NOT be a tournament director in any other gin league.
HTD's and Admin may NOT be in multiple gin leagues. Failure to comply may result in
removal of Staff position or removal from League.
When pairings are called, the first person listed is expected to create the table
and invite his/her opponent (ie.. Kurlygurl722 pls inv Aut1102. Kurly would create
the table and invite Aut1102) If your opponent fails to invite you, please set the
table and invite them or simply set the table if he/she is not in the lobby. If they
fail to accept the invite or enter the lobby, ask for a Timer in the lobby. All
timers are set for 5 minutes. After five minutes, the player will be disqualified
and the opponent will advance. Any member that has a habit of refusing to set tables
may be boxed or removed from League. This is considered poor manners!
Both the winner and the loser of the pairing must "report" in the lobby. Please use
"<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<" when reporting so that the TD can visibly notice the
report amongst the genral lobby chat and banter.
The Penalty Box (or "box") is used to protect the environment that we play in. If
you are found to be in violation of the Gindicate rules, Admin may elect to "box"
you. You will be restricted from tournament play for a time period. If a member is
GROSSLY negligent or has no place in the Gindicate, that member may be removed from
the League without being "boxed". If you have been boxed, it has been determined
that you are valued as a member and the Gindicate would like to see the situation
resolved rather than lose you! If you feel you have been boxed in error, contact an
Admin and discuss the situation!
Every lobby has them and you know who they are. They are the individuals that
continuosly state ignorant and offensive material or condemn the resident league.
IGNORE THEM. Do not argue with them. Do not engage in argumentative conversation.
Place them on iggy or refuse to respond. Failure to do so may result in boxing or
removal from League.
The Gindicate has a zero tolerance policy for drama. We want to represent
ourselves in a manner that will attract new members and make our members feel
welcome and comfortable. Do not cause drama or you may be boxed or removed from
League.
They are everywhere. Ignore them or be polite!
If there is an issue or problem, we want to reslove it as quickly as possible.
The best way to do so is to follow the chain of command! The chain of command is as
follows:
TD on duty – The TD that is hosting at the time
HTD – If the TD on duty can not resolve the issue, they will assist you in
finding an HTD. If you have an issue with the decision of the TD, then you may find
an HTD.
Admin – If the HTD can not resolve the issue, they will assist you in finding
a member of Admin. If you have an issue with the decision of the HTD, then you may
find a member of Admin.
The decision of the ADMIN is final.
