Over 22 years that I have been married we have gone to both side's of the family for our Thanksgiving dinner. My in-laws our over 4 hours away, so many times it depended if we had the next day off.

My most memorable and special Thanksgiving is when my in-laws came to my parents' home for Thanksgiving. This happened when my youngest daughte was only 5 weeks old and we lived in Michigan. It has only happened once.

We have eaten at restaurants a few times. I have never cooked and had a Thanksgiving dinner at our home.

This year we will be going to my in-laws. This question was harder than I thought it would be to answer, but a nice poll that brought back many memories.

  Since my side of the family is all in Kentucky we go to Steve's familys. When we all lived in Ky we would split it up.Now I dont have to make 6 pumpkin pies like I did when both familys were in same town, I kinda miss those days.

    When my in-laws were still living, we would would split the day ... morning and early afternoon with them, late afternoon and evening with my family. Now we alternate the holidays between here and there.

      Being a Military family we only got to go home occasionally for the holdidays though that would be our choice if possible. We usually celebrate at home and invite some of our military extended family to join us.
