HOW TO JOIN THE MISFITS FAMILY

A) ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE MAIN PAGE CLICK ON THE LINK AT THE TOP THAT SAYS "GETTING STARTED". THIS WILL OPEN A DISPLAY MENU. CLICK ON THE LINK THAT SAYS "FREE SIGN UP" AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THERE.

B) TYPE IN YOUR LADDER NAME, MAKING SURE IT IS THE SAME AS YOUR POGO SCREEN NAME

C) TYPE IN THE PASSWORD OF YOUR CHOICE. PICK ONE THAT WILL BE EASY FOR YOU TO REMEMBER, BUT HARD FOR OTHERS TO FIGURE OUT.

D) RE ENTER YOUR PASSWORD TO CONFIRM.

E) ENTER THE EMAIL ADDRESS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE LEAGUE EMAILS AT. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE EMAILS OF OUR STAFF, PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL FOLDERS OR CONTACT THE STAFF FOR THEIR ADDRESSES SO YOU CAN ADD THEM TO YOUR LIST

F) RE ENTER YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS TO CONFIRM.

G) DURING THE 3RD STEP OF THE SIGN UP PROCESS, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPTION OF CHECKING SEVERAL BOXES. THE MORE BOXES YOU CHECK THE MORE LADDER BUX YOU WILL RECEIVE. LADDER BUX ARE USED TO ENTER TOURNAMENTS AND YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN TOURNAMENTS WITHOUT THEM IF THEY REQUIRE AN "ENTRY FEE", AS MOST OF OUR TOURS DO. LADDER BUX CAN ALSO BE WON AND ACCUMULATED BY WINNING AT LEAST ONE ROUND OF A TOURNAMENT UNLESS IT IS A "FREE TO ENTER" GAME

H) SUBMIT YOUR COMPLETED FORM.

STEPS TO ENTER A TOURNAMENT



A) ON THE LEAGUES MAIN PAGE YOU WILL SEE A LINK FOR THE TOURNAMENT CALENDAR ON THE RIGHT. THIS IS WHERE ALL THE TOURNAMENTS WILL BE POSTED DAILY. THE TIMES LISTED FOR THE TOURAMENTS ARE EASTERN STANDARD TIME. ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED FOR THE TOURNEY WILL BE FOUND HERE. TIME, HOST, GAME, ROOM TAB, AND ROOM, AS WELL AS ENTRY THE REQUIRED ENTRY FEE.

B) OUR HOSTS SOMETIMES SENDS OUT INVITATIONS TO THEIR TOURNAMENTS USUALLY 15-30 MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE SCHEDULED TO START. IF YOU WISH TO RECEIVE THESE INVITATIONS, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YAHOO INSTANT MESSENGER AND OUR HOSTS HAVE YOUR ID. IF YOU PREFER NOT TO RECEIVE THESE INVITES YOU WILL NEED TO CHECK THE DAILY TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE AND ENTER FROM THERE. SIMPLY FIND THE GAME YOU WISH WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN, CLICK ON UNDERLINED TIME AND HOST NAME AND YOU WILL BE TAKEN TO THE REGISTRATION PAGE. ENTER YOUR NAME AND PASSWORD AND CHECK THE "I AGREE" BOX. AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE THERE WILL BE A BOX THAT SAYS "CHECK IN" FIND YOUR NAME IN THE DROP DOWN BOX, ENTER YOUR PASSWORD, AND CLICK "CHECK-IN". YOU ARE NOW READY TO PLAY.



NAVAGATING AROUND THE MAIN PAGE



A) IF YOU'VE MADE IT THIS FAR, YOU OBVIOUSLY KNOW YOUR WAY AROUND AND HAVE PROBABLY SEEN MOST OF THE STUFF WE HAVE ON THE MAIN PAGE. SEVERAL THINGS YOU WILL FIND HANDY AND USE MOST OFTEN ARE THE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE, GAME RULES, SHOUTBOX, TOURNAMENT REQUEST BOX, REQUEST FOR LADDER BUX, THE LEAGUE NEWSLETTER AND THE BACKDOORS TO THE GAMES. EVERYTHING IS PRETTY SELF EXPLANITORY, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE JUST A MOMENT TO TELL YOU ABOUT OUR BACKDOORS WHICH ARE LOCATED ON THE MAIN PAGE. JUST CLICK ON THE NAME OF THE GAME. THE BACKDOORS CAN EITHER BE USED TO TAKE YOU DIRECTLY TO A TOURNAMENT ROOM OR CAN ASSIST YOU IN GETTING INTO A ROOM THAT IS FULL AND YOU CAN'T GET IN. MOST OF THE TIMES YOU ARE ABLE TO GET INTO A FULL ROOM BY USING THESE, BUT IF ALL ELSE FAILS YOU MAY NEED TO SEND YOURSELF AN INVITATION THROUGH POGO MESSAGES IN ORDER TO GET IN.

B) ONCE YOU HAVE ENTERED INTO A TOURNEY ROOM YOU CAN IDENTIFY THE HOST BY THE SMILEY FACE THEY ARE WEARING. HOSTS WILL ALSO BE TYPING IN CAPITAL LETTERS DURING THE TOURNAMENT SO YOU CAN IDENTIFY THEM AND EASILY PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU PAY ATTENTION TO THE HOST AT ALL TIMES DURING THE GAME AS THEY WILL BE INSTRUCTING YOU ON RULES, TIMES TO START AND STOP GAME PLAY, AND POSSIBLY ADVISE YOU OF INCORRECT TABLE SETTINGS. IF YOU DO NOT PAY ATTENTION AND INCORRECTLY SET THE GAME TABLE YOU MAY HAVE TO START OVER AND LOSE PROGRESS IN YOUR GAME. A) TOURNAMENT PAGES ARE THE MAIN PAGES YOU SEE WHEN REGISTERING FOR A TOURNAMENT. THE RIGHT SIDE OF THIS PAGE SHOWS ALL INFORMATION ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT INCLUDING THE HOST, TOURNAMENT NUMBER, THE ROOM WHERE THE GAME IS PLAYED, WHAT TYPE OF TOURNEY IS BEING PLAYED (S/E, D/E TRUE SWISS OR REGULAR SWISS), THE ENTRY FEE YOU WERE CHARGED TO PARTICIPATE, WHAT TIME THE GAME AND EACH ROUND IS EXPECTED TO START AND ANY SPECIAL TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS. YOU WILL FIND MORE INFORMATION ON THE TYPE OF GAMES LISTED A LITTLE LATER ON.

B) IF FOR ANY REASON YOU NEED TO WITHDRAW FROM THE TOURNAMENT, PLEASE CONTACT THE HOST AND THEY WILL REMOVE YOU. IF YOU WITHDRAWL AFTER THE TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN CLOSED AND GAME PLAY HAS BEGUN YOU WILL LOSE YOUR ENTRY FEE. IF YOU WITHDRAW BEFORE THE TOUR HAS CLOSED ALL ENTRY FEES WILL BE REFUNDED TO YOUR ACCOUNT.

LADDER BUX ARE USED STRICTLY FOR ENTERING TOURNAMENTS AND CAN BE CASHED IN TO PURCHASE ITEMS THROUGH CASES. THEY CAN BE REFERED TO AS "FAKE MONEY" AND ARE IN NO WAY CONNECTED WITH POGO.

E) HOW DO I GET LADDER BUX?

YOU WILL EARN LADDER BUX EACH TIME YOU WIN A ROUND DURING A TOURNAMENT. THE NUMBER OF BUX YOU RECEIVE WILL DEPEND ON THE AMOUNT OF BUX YOU PAID TO ENTER, THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS IN THE TOURNAMENT, HOW MANY ROUNDS YOU PLAYED AND THE TYPE OF MEMBERSHIP YOU HAVE. REMEMBER, PREMIUM MEMBERS EARN MORE THAN GENERAL MEMBERS AND THE AMOUNT OF BUX YOU WIN IS NOT DETERMINED SOLEY BY THE POSITION YOU FINISHED IN. IF THE FIRST PLACE WINNER IS A GENERAL MEMBER AND THE LAST PLACE PERSON IS A DIAMOND MEMBER, THE LAST PLACE PERSON WILL RECEIVE MORE BUX PER WIN. THE ONLY TIME YOU WILL NOT EARN BUX DURING A TOURNAMENT IS IF IT WAS FREE TO ENTER OR YOU DID NOT WIN AT LEAST ONE ROUND. YOU CAN ALSO ASK ANY HOST AND THEY WILL GET YOU LADDERBUX.

F) WHAT IS A TD DONATION?

G) WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SINGLE ELIMINATION (S/E), DOUBLE ELIMINATION (D/E) TRUE SWISS AND SWISS TOURNAMENTS?

SINGLE ELIMINATION IS JUST THAT. ONCE YOU LOSE A ROUND IN THE TOURNAMENT YOU ARE REMOVED FROM THE COMPETITION AND ARE FREE TO LEAVE THE ROOM.
DOUBLE ELIMINATION MEANS EACH PLAYER WILL CONTINUE PLAYING UNTIL THEY HAVE REACHED THEIR SECOND LOSS. ONCE THE PLAYER HAS BEEN DEFEATED TWICE THEY WILL BE REMOVED FROM COMPETITION.
TRUE SWISS IS A TOTAL OF THREE ROUNDS AND EVERYONE PLAYS UNTIL THE END OF THE THREE ROUNDS. WIN OR LOSE.
REGULAR SWISS IS PLAYED UNTIL THERE IS AN OVER ALL WINNER. THE NUMBER OF ROUNDS TO BE PLAYED WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS IN THE TOURN.
