LLM Canasta Unlimited
Rules and Policies
The Ranking System!
MyLeague has one of the simplest ranking systems ever used for competitive play. The concept was adopted from the ranking system used on the official Case’s Ladders. We call it a "Ladder" because each member holds a unique rank or "rung" that represents their standing among other members. The highest-ranked member holds the #1 Ladder position; for example, someone ranked #2 is ranked below the #1 member. The goal is to "climb" the Ladder all the way to the top!
  • When you first join, you are placed in an “Unranked” category on the League.
  • You become "Ranked" after winning your first League match. (Unranked members may play each other, and the winner becomes ranked at the bottom of the League.)
  • When you defeat a higher-ranked member, you move up in rank 50% the distance between their rank and your own.
    • Example: If you are ranked #50 and you beat the #1 ranked member, then your new rank would be 25.
  • Your rank on the League does not go down if you lose a match unless your opponent is ranked DIRECTLY below you.
    • Example: If you are ranked #5 and the #6 ranked member defeats you, then your new rank would be #6.
    • When members ranked below you are victorious against members ranked above you, it's possible the member will jump over you in rank and you will move down one rung. This depends on the ranks involved.
      • Example(per 50% rank gain) :You are currently ranked #7. If the #10 ranked member defeats the #1 ranked member, then #10 will advance to the #5 rung and you will fall to the #8 rung.

    Account Rules
    • League Names
      • If your League name is deemed offensive or contains profanity, your account may be removed.
      • If your League name is deemed abusive towards another member, your account may be removed.
      • You can edit your League name by using the ‘My Account’ tab and choosing the ‘Edit Username’ option. If you have problems changing your League name, please use the ‘Contact Admin’ link, located on the 'Support' tab.
    • E-mail Address
      • Your E-mail address must be kept current at all times, in case you need to be contacted. You can use the 'Edit E-mail Address' link on the 'My Account' tab to edit your E-mail address.
    • Password Security
      • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
      • You are not permitted to share your password with anyone for any reason.
    • Inactivity
      • In order to keep the League as dynamic as possible, your account will be automatically deleted if you are inactive for 90 days. However, one of the features of our Premium Membership Program is never being deleted for inactivity. Information regarding our Premium Membership Program can be found here .
    • Multiple Accounts
      • Only one account is allowed per person. There are no exceptions to this rule.
      • It is forbidden for more than one person to use or share the same account.
      • Multiple accounts from the same location will be investigated and possibly removed.

    Challenges
Note: Please consult the Admin staff regarding whether or not League challenges are permitted for this League. A challenge is defined as a request for a match with a higher-ranked member. Whether you are the challenger or the one being challenged, there are some rules that must be followed. Violating these rules may result in penalties. If you notice anyone violating these rules, please contact the Admin staff.
    • Chat
      • The best way to find League matches is to announce in chat that you are looking for a League match so that other members will know you are interested in League-play. You can also directly challenge a specific member in chat.
    • Formal Challenges
      • Most Leagues permit the use of Formal Challenges. A complete overview of the Formal Challenge system can be found here .
    • 1 time(s) Per Day
      • You may play the same member 1 time(s) per day. However, you may play as many different members as you would like on any given day. A “MyLeague” day begins at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
    • Verify Information
      • We recommend you ensure a potential opponent is also a member of the League before starting your match. You can do this very easily by searching for your opponent using the 'Search for Players' tool.

    Playing a Match
Once you are ready to start playing a League match, there are some guidelines governing game play that you should keep in mind.
    • Opponents
      • You are not allowed to report losses to another member that also plays from the same computer as you. Our security software will detect this activity if it is attempted, and participating accounts may be penalized or removed.
    • Sportsmanship
      • The same rules that apply to behavior in chat (covered in a later section) also apply during matches.

    Reporting the Match
Once your match is completed, the loser of the match is responsible for reporting the loss immediately. You can report your matches using the 'Report Loss' button located on the 'Standings' tab. Please note the ‘Report Loss’ link should only be used for League matches and not for tournament matches; you should consult the TD with any questions regarding reporting tournament matches. If you have any problems reporting a loss, you should contact the Admin staff and request assistance.
    • Reporting the Loss
      • In one-on-one matches, the loser of the match reports the loss to the winner.
      • In partner matches, each member of the losing team reports a loss to both partners of the winning team. At the end of the match, you would either gain two wins or report two losses.
      • In “free for all” matches (matches in which multiple opponents are competing against each other without partners), each loser of the match must report a loss to one overall winner.
      • When playing matches with more than one opponent, it is important for losses to be reported in the proper order if rank will be affected by the order of report. You must report to the better-ranked opponent first in those cases. It is your responsibility to make sure you report in the correct order when necessary. Not doing so may result in penalty.
    • Unreported Matches
      • If your opponent does not report their loss within one hour after completing the match or prior to starting another match, you should click on the “Contact Admin” link and then use the “Unreported Match” form.

    Tournaments
The rules for a Tournament are determined by the Tournament Director hosting the event. You will find a summary of each individual Tournament, including a Rules page, if you follow the link for that specific Tournament.

    League-Specific Rules
  • TOUR QUICKIES

Host calls rounds. The first name listed in the match sets the table. Pw to table is always llm in small case type. Refrain from table talk of cards, it will get you DQ’ed (disqualified). After every game, win or lose, ALL PLAYERS report in lobby like this in Pogo names winners//losers (larry/mo curly/shem). All games are played to 3000, highest score wins once 3000 is reached (UNLESS A SPECIAL RULE ALTERS IT).

BASIC LLM CANASTA UNLIMITED TOURNAMENT RULES

    ~*REGISTERING FOR A TOURNAMENT *~

You may register for any tournament with the exception of the TOC which is invitational only, and you may not be signed up for 2 tours at once. Once you are eliminated from a tour, you may sign up for the next, but not until. You may be disqualified from both if you do this ~ so please take care what tourneys you sign up for!

To view the tourneys scheduled in a day, please go to our homepage, listed above, and any tours set will appear under the main pic that says LLM Canasta Unlimited on the homepage!

Click on the link for the tour time you wish to participate in. Click on register and type in user name and password that you used upon registering for our league.

All tours will have a different rule so please click the rules link for each tour and read them carefully. Please check the small white box that says “I have read and understand rules”. If you do not check this box, you will get an error message. Click register.

Be sure the next screen verifies that you have been registered in the tourney.

A host will run rules at the start of the tour. PLEASE WATCH LOBBY FOR ALL THAT THE HOST SAYS IN TOURNEY DIRECTING. Running rules in the lobby is a courtesy. We do not want to cause tension with nonleague members by running the rules too much.

Be sure to be in the lobby at least 5 minutes before the tour starts. We close on the hour with no reopens! Please help the tourney run smoothly by keeping up the standings page!!!!!!!!! This will benefit yourself and others in the tour.

We set tours for random partners. You may check TEAMS PAGE once started to see who your partner is and who is to set (Remember~ first name in pairs is to set and invite).

    ~*WHAT TO DO DURING A TOURNEY *~

When tourney starts the host will announce all matches to be played (example: larry/mo curly/shem). . PLEASE HOLD CHAT! Chat during pairings is confusing for both host and members so please hold all the chat until tables have been ok’d and host says YOU may RESUME CHAT!

The 1st player of the team announced for the pairing would set: (example: larry/mo curly/shem – in this match larry would set and invite mo curly shem to table 60). Setter’s choice for what table to play on as long as it has not been used in this tour already. Table settings can be found at the bottom of the RULES link on tour page.

While playing as a member of the league we ask you to be cordial and polite to all members of the league. At least say hi good luck all and good game at the end. Other than that minimal amount of niceness, “If you cannot say something nice don’t say nothing at all” as thumper said! WE HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR LOBBY DRAMA. KEEP THE CHAT CLEAN.

Once the game has either reached 3000 or a special rule to the game has been met, thus ending the game, you are to type in the lobby your report to the host as follows: winner/winner loser/loser using pogo names to avoid confusion to hosts who may not know all players names or nicknames. All players MUST report before the tour can continue. If a winner does not report after repeated attempts to get them to do so, the report will be reversed and the losers will continue. Wins will not be marked by the host until all 4 have been given in the lobby.

Any disputes about game, or concerning another member in the lobby is NOT to be discussed in the lobby or on tables. You are to notify a host of any disputes and discuss it in private.

If there is a DQ on the table, STOP ALL PLAY IMMEDIATLEY!!!!!!!!! Host NEEDS to see the table as it is at the calling of a DQ. If play continues, we cannot necessarily verify or explain what happened so the play would continue.

To respect all players we ask that you not announce that someone else has DQ’ed. If you choose to share that you were the DQ’ing party, that is your choice. We do not want to embarrass any member by pointing fingers about a mistake in play. We want all to have fun and be comfortable with us.

Before leaving the lobby please remember to thank the TD for hosting the tour. TD’s voluntarily give of their time and without them, we would have no tours to thank them for.

Please bear with the host during the tour. Sometimes we have off days and the tour may not go smoothly as other days. They are doing the best they can. Being rude and argumentative to a TD is grounds for removal. Hosts decisions are final. Again, if you have issues, the lobby is NOT the place to voice your opinion. Please ask host to a table or ask for Admin.

    ~*BRB & TIMERS *~

Players may request a 3 minute BRB (BE RIGHT BACK) Timer. This is not a part of the regular 10 minute timer allowed per tour. If a player is not back in the 3 minutes, then the 10 minute timer goes into effect.

Timers are utilized to keep a tour running smoothly, to prevent members from waiting long periods of time (especially if on a bye waiting to play), and most importantly, so that they do not run into the next tour time if necessary.

Rounds are given an estimated playing time of 30 minutes per round. Please respect the league and the members and try not to multitask. When a player multitasks (does other things, web surfing, working) etc it is not fair to the partner as you are not giving your full attention to the game and it does slow play time down. When a timer is called, the host will activate a 10 minute timer.

If there is need for a timer, please announce in lobby with caps: TIMER ON BLANK AND WHY (UNRESPONSIVE, NOT ON TABLE, POOF).

Reasons for a timer to be called are:

    1. player poofs from a table

    2. player is unresponsive on the table after 1 full minute

    3. player is not in lobby

    4. player does not go to table after being called 3 times (players need to leave table after tourney portion of game is finished when called to next round.)

The player who has the timer called on them has 10 minutes to return. At the time of return, the time will be stopped and player will be notified of how much time is remaining on their allotted 10 minutes per tour. Player is to announce IN CAPS upon arrival back to the lobby * I AM BACK *. At this time, the host will tell you what table you are expected at. Once the player has loaded and either spoken on the table or played a card, the timer is to be called off in the lobby by one of the 3 other members on the table *TIMER OFF SO-AND-SO*.

    ~*SUBS*~

SUBS are allowed to replace players who are in jeopardy of timing out. SUB must be a league member who is not currently not playing in the tourney.

    (PLEASE NOTE)

WE DO NOT ALLOW SUBS IN THE 1 V 1 GAMES WE WILL ALLOW THE 10 MINUTE TIMER FOR MISSING PLAYER TO RETURN

A 10-minute timer will be called, after 2 minutes a SUB will be assigned.

HOST/TD will assign a sub. NO PLAYER IS ALLOWED TO JUMP ON A TABLE TO SUB WITHOUT BEING ASSIGNED BY THE HOST. PLAYERS CANNOT REQUEST A PARTICULAR SUB. Subs are assigned in the following order from the lobby: 1. League member

    2. Player already eliminated from tourney

    3. TD

    4. HTD

    5. ADMIN

A player will be allowed (2) 10-minute timers. After 2 timers are called, a SUB is required to finish the tourney in that player’s place.

    ~*WATCHERS*~

We DO allow watchers on tables at this time, But please watch silently as not to disturb players. Table settings will need to be set to allow watchers so that the HOST/TD can come to the table when needed.

    ~*MESSENGERS AND TABLE TALK *~

We ask that you do not discuss the cards or any part of rules on the tables. If you do so and table talk called and verified, you will be disqualified. The hosts are here to answer all questions IN THE LOBBY.

There are no messengers or table talk allowed to your partner while on a table. We also do not want accusations flying around lightly. If you have an issue and suspect cheating, do not discuss it on table or in lobby. This is considered drama. Contact the host IMMEDIATELY! They will handle the situation.

    ~*DISPUTE AND RESOLUTION*~

If there are any issues that come up that you feel need to be resolved during the game, please contact the host. Do not discuss it in the lobby. The hosts will come to table and try to resolve it. If you feel the TD has ruled incorrectly, you may ask for an HTD or Admin to intervene. Those who openly disrespect members of the league will face possibly suspension in the penalty box or total removal from the league. If there are any questions or concerns please feel free to contact one of your Admin.

    ~*MOST IMPORTANTLY*~

WE ARE A LEAGUE THAT WAS CREATED TO BE DRAMA FREE, HASSLE FREE, AND FAMILY ORIENTED. CHAT SHOULD REFLECT THIS AT ALL TIMES.

    Top Ten
The purpose of the League is to climb to the top and the competition for the rungs in the Top Ten is high. As such, we have special rules that apply for members in the Top Ten.

    • Inactivity
      • Members in the Top Ten must play a League match at least once every 14 days; otherwise, you will be automatically dropped five rungs and your inactivity counter is reset. There are no exceptions to this rule.

    Expected Behavior
As a member of MyLeague, you are representing the League, the Admin staff, and all other members when you are participating on a MyLeague. It’s part of your responsibility as a member to act in a respectable manner within your League community.
    • Avatars
      • The rules of common decency should be followed when uploading images to use as avatars. Inappropriate avatars may be removed without warning or notification.
    • Cheating
      • If you believe your opponent is cheating, then you should contact the Admin staff.
    • Abuse
      • It is forbidden to abuse or harass another League member.
      • It is important to remember that two wrongs do not make a right. If you are being harassed by another League member, contact the Admin staff for assistance. Do not take matters into your own hands or return the abuse, or you could be penalized as well.
    • Nice Guy Rule
      • Please note that behavior guidelines govern all methods of communication. This includes chat, E-mail, message forums, instant messenger services, etc. Treat other members with respect!

    Fill in the Blank
Although we have tried to be as detailed as possible, we can’t cover every aspect of gaming in our rules. Please be advised that just because something is not stated in our rules and policies, then that does not mean it is allowed. Use common sense. If it is something that will adversely affect other members and you might think twice about it, then it’s probably against the rules. The Admin staff will have the final say in such matters. If you have a specific question please feel free to contact us via E-mail.
