It is sad, but true that it is once again that time of year when we lost our angel on earth to the Lord above, Rickdoor42.

For those of you who never knew Rick you maybe able to gain a bit of knowledge from the letter he wrote to our league before he died.

Rick was a special human being who you could not help but love. I, as many, in the league will go on forever loving him and missing him. He was a unique individual who could lift your soul even in the worst of times.

To Rick - I miss you buddy and I know your in a better place. As you always told us "It better to put somone up than down K"

  I met rick when he came to forevers for that short time. Some told us his story and that he might be different. Boy, they hit it right on the head. However, his difference was in his heart. I found him to be nice and always up in spirit. I looked forward to seeing him in the lobby. Its amazing how you can get your spirit lifted by someone else like rick. When he came back home to gazers, the other lobby changed. One guy did that. Well, I saved his letter and read it all the time. Knowing how he wanted all gazers to be happy all the way to the end shows what a special guy he was and is. I hope his kermit is making him smile and while you play this tour tonight, if you hear a frog chirp, its kermit delivering a message of love from rick. God bless us for having him the short time we did. Mike

    Thank you Laura for posting Rick's letter to us and thank you Marie for putting his picture in there for me to save both of them. I didn't know about Rick when I first came to Gazer's but Nutty gave me the whole story. She told me of his car accident, his folks, and how he came to Gazers after his old league folded up. I have never seen someone with such a pure soul as Rick. He lived up to his words, "Better to put someone up than put them down." (maybe not a correct quote). He never had a bad thing to say about anything or anyone. Celina, you missed knowing a great guy but you learned all he wanted you to know. Life is too short for the petty stuff, tell people you love them, show people that you care about them, and remember, it takes the same amount of energy to type a good word as a bad word. I don't have as pure of a soul as Rick but his letter is a good reminder to try to be that way.

        I never got to meet Rick. After reading his letter to us gazers it brought tears to my eyes. It made me think of my life and how lucky I am to be given a second chance in life. I myself am lucky to be alive after having cancer 2 years ago. I was told if they had not found it I would not have lived more then 3 months.That was my wake up call. I see life different now. We all go through tough times and think we are the only ones going through a hard time. I always try and think I am better off then a lot of other people and my problems are small compared to others.
        Rick left us a MESSAGE OF LOVE that we should all read and never forget. . Life is so short and we do not realize it. We all make mistakes in life, no body is perfect. From what I understand even though Rick was dying he had a kind word to everyone. I myself have had a wake up call after reading his MESSAGE to us. You never know what a gazers is going through in his or her life and to come in and play cards is where they can come to relax and get away from the problems they are having in their life. So if you see a gazer playing slow or having a bad day maybe all they need is a kind word or hug.

        I thank you Laura for posting this it gave me something to think about.

          ty for posting this so all gazers can read it laura! i have his letter w this pic n a frame next to my desk...whenever i am sad or angry just looking at this makes me realize its gonna b ok...rick was an amazing young man..a true angel on earth and i feel he is always w me...god let rick touch all of our hearts...and he needed rick to help sum other ppl out so he had to take him from us...but he will always live thru all of his friends from gazers.rick is a friend from mine..as he would say lol we love and miss u rickdoor42...always n our hearts
