Send your birthday information via pogo mail to wusa923, tuffibe, nemie202, or lauralpurcell
We will post it on the Birthday list and work with you to set up a Birthday Tour in your honor!!!
to be hosted? Ask for a special request tour! Contact wusa923, tuffibe, nemie202 or lauralpurcell at least 24 hours in advance and we will try to schedule a special tour! Just click on the "SPECIAL REQUEST GAMES" link located below or on the lower right of the tournament page to see what games are available!!
tournament terms mean? Check below for the definitions!
How to Register for a Tournament: There are two ways to register for a tournament: Quick Register, and Normal Registration. 1. Quick Register is done from the main Howler web site home page www.myleague.com/thehowlers. You need to make sure that you are logged into the site -- look in the upper right hand of the page and verify that it shows your name. If it doesn't, log in using your Howler name and password. Scroll down to the "Tournament Events" that are listed just under the chat box. You will see all the tournaments that are still scheduled for the day. You can hover over them to get more information, and there will be a link on the right that says "Register". Click that link for any tournament you want to play, and the link will change to "registered" and you're all set. 2. Normal Registration is done from the Howler Tournaments page www.myleague.com/thehowlers/tournaments. Scroll down to the tournament in which you wish to register, and click on the time/Tournament Director's name. The main tournament page will open. Click on the link that says "Register". Type in your Howler name and password, click the checkbox that says "I have read the rules", and click "register". You should see a confirmation page that says you have been registered and what number you are.
~~ If you have any trouble getting registered for any reason, please just come to the tournament room early (at least 15 minutes) before start time, and the TD will be happy to help!
How to Check In for a Tournament: Sometimes instead of registering for a tournament, you will need to check-in instead. Special tournaments like Tournament of Champions are like this, as well as any tournaments where you have registered before check-in was open. To check-in, go to the main tournament page and click on the "Teams/Check-In" link. There will be a drop-down box at the top of the screen labeled "CHECK-IN". Find your name in the drop-down list, enter your ladder password, and click the "Check in" button. A screen should come back that says you have been checked in for the tournament. If you click the "Teams/Check-In" link again, you should see a "yes" in the column that says "checked in" next to your name, and you are good to play in that tournament!
Ladderbux: Ladderbux are what we use to enter into the tournaments and award to our winners. They can be redeemed at cases for prizes as well. You get Ladderbux when you sign up and answer all the questions, or from a friend who can gift from a premium membership, or just from logging into the Howlers site daily!
Bye: A bye is an automatic win generated by the computer. Players with byes advance to the next round, and do not have to play the current round. They can play for fun, or not play as they choose.
Laddering: Laddering is when you play along with the tournament under the same rules but the loser must report the loss on the league site. To report the loss, click the STANDINGS tab at the top of the page, then click report loss, enter your opponents name and click report loss. You're basically challenging another player for a chance to move up in the standings/ladder/ranks. It does NOT cost Ladderbux to ladder. Just ask for a ladder by saying "ladder anyone?"
We do like to start on time, and coming early makes sure that you can load the room, ask any questions, and hear any special announcements that might be made.
tournament room early anyway. The TD will be happy to help in anyway possible.
do so. It is very difficult to find someone to help you if you can't find us.
contact either wusa923, tuffibe, or nemie202. We will make sure to get some Ladderbux in your account and get you back in the tournaments!
page for useful information. They are updated more regularly than Newsletters are sent out.
