I understand some of you are having a BAD TIME getting into WORDSTEAL.

Here are the OFFICIAL instructions on how to make it work:

1) Click on START
2) open your CONTROL PANEL.
3) Click on JAVA.
4) Click on the tab that says ADVANCED.
5) Choose JAVA PLUG-IN.
6) Uncheck the box that says "Enable...".
7) Close everything up, and
8) restart your browser.

WordSteal should come up fine.

  Some of you may not be able to get into the forums too. There following was posted on the Hoyle forum:

  User Friendly Directions

  I know it's frustrating for people that are not computer savy so hopefully these directions will make it easier for those that are having a problem. Numerous people have already posted easier directions but I'm going to post it again.

  If you changed your DNS undo it.

  Click start, settings, then Control Panel,
  Double click on Network Connections icon,
  Double click on Local Area Network,
  Click on the Properties button at the bottom,
  Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), so it is highlighted
  Click on the properties button,
  Make sure the dot is on Obtain an IP address automatically
  Make sure the dot is on Obtain DNS server address automatically
  Click on OK.

  If you didn't change your DNS setting then just do this.

  
  Right click on Start Button
  Right click Explore
  Left click Windows (on the left side)
  Left click 32 (on the left side)
  Left click drivers
  under drivers you will see etc
  double click etc
  The hosts folder will be on the right of that window
  Right click on the hosts folder and click properties.
  under the general tab uncheck read only, click apply and ok
  close the box.
  double click "hosts"
  double click "notepad"
  add to the bottom of the page:

  8.5.0.53 hoylegames.sierra.com

  click the x on the top right. When it asks you if you want to save it, click yes.
