As Platinum and Diamond members, you have the ability to disable most ads on our site. This includes ads on tournament pages.
It is important to note that disabling ads on old-style pages (such as tourney pages, OCL pages, and Team League pages) is done in a different way from disabling ads on the new design.
To disable ads on the old-style pages, follow these steps:
1) Log in to your League and go to the "My Account" tab.
2) In the "My Options" box at the upper-left corner of the screen, click "Site Preferences"
3) In the pop-up window, choose the "Site Preferences" button.
4) Choose "Disable Most Ads" in the drop-down box, and follow the on-screen prompts.
5) Refresh any old-style pages you may have open, and the ads should be gone.
Please note that if you erase your cookies, you will have to re-disable the ads. The programmers are working on a way to try and tie in old-style ad disabling to the new "one-click disable" button for the new site. However, this is harder than it sounds, because the old-style pages are on a different domain, and so that is causing trouble.
As for the virus-scanner issue, if you send in a support mail with a screenshot of the ad and the virus warning, I will make sure to pass your concerns on to the ad company. You should know that so far, every time that we've received a report of this kind that it has been a false-positive situation. Many virus scanners are extremely cautious. This is a good thing, as it helps protect your computer against viruses that try to hide themselves. Unfortunately, it can mean that stuff that is not a virus can trigger warnings -- usually because an ad has a mistake in its coding. Obviously, we know how much concern false positives can cause, so we try to get these ads removed as quickly as possible. However, I do want to reassure you that it's most likely a false positive. :)
