- Monkey See, Monkey Do View

Monkeys, like children, will often mirror what they see someone else doing. This can be useful but it can also be used for the bad, or in this case, the mindless. For some reason, the league has allowed negative member IDs to be used. This isn't pointed to foul language being used, although that is offensive as well. I'm speaking of IDs that mention other league members and/or staff in a negative light. We're all going to have an issue with one or more people along the way, but to take a stab at someone via a new league name? When I first saw an example of this in the daily news section, I assumed the member would be pulled aside and made to change their ID but instead, I've seen it used in numerous tournaments. Normally, these short-fused, low self-esteemers will either quit the league or change their IDs back, but the problem is that another monkey saw it done and now here we go. Monkey saw, monkey does. Futhermore, if we spoke in the lobby to each other with the same language used in the ID, we'd be boxed. However, if it's used in an ID, it's somehow acceptable to be disrespectful in that vein? I ask those in charge to stop this trend as more and more monkeys see then do.
