- Question for Tyrone Tanic PLEASE View

I was wondering if you can help with launching in GameSpy if you have a router?
I just got AT&T high speed internet access, and it came with a high speed router/modem.
Any suggestions, within reason(lol), would be greatly appreciated.thanks.

Who makes your router?Mine is from 2WIRE and that's the only one I know anything about.
(I have AT&T also and that's the brand of router I got with mine.)

You need to go into the 2WIRE Router setup and open the firewall for Gamespy.(There are two kinds of firewalls. One is a software firewall, controlled by programs such as Windows Firewall or Norton 360. The other is a hardware firewall, which is the one you're going to open up by going into the 2WIRE setup.)
I'm not sure if your setup is located in the same place mine is. Here's how I get there:
Open your browser and type in http://192.168.1.254/setup ... type in your password.
Then click Next a couple times til you see a FIREWALL SETTINGS tab and click that too.
Under EDIT FIREWALL SETTINGS click the button that says ALLOW INDIVIDUAL APPLICATIONS.
On one of the drop-down lists, either ALL APPLICATIONS or GAMES you should see GAMESPY ARCADE ... ADD that to the list of HOSTED APPLICATIONS.
Click DONE and exit out. You should be OK now.
If not, you may have to dick around with some of the other settings, such as selecting DMZplus mode or USER-DEFINED applications.

: ARGH! GameSpy Arcade is not listed anywhere in the firewall's drop down menu. I have no idea how to configure it in order to add it.
Would you possibly have those settings?
It asks for these things;Protocol: TCP UDP
Port (or Range): From:
To:
Protocol Timeout (seconds):
TCP default 86400
UDP default 600
Map to Host Port:
Default = the same port as defined above.
Application Type

Go to the GameSpy Arcade help page for port info.http://www.gamespyarcade.com/support/firewalls.shtml
I think all you really need to worry about is opening certain ports. (I copy/pasted the following list from that help page.)
If you are behind a firewall/proxy and are able to change its settings, Arcade needs the following TCP ports open in order to function:
6667 (IRC)
3783 (Voice Chat Port)
27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)
28900 (Master Server List Request)
29900 (GP Connection Manager)
29901 (GP Search Manager)
13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
6515 (Dplay UDP)
6500 (Query Port)TT
