- why rated? View

Hello,
I'm just wondering why case games are played on rated tables? On the other case ladders I belong to all games are played on unrated table, mainly to prevent force forfeits. Just wondering why this ladder is different from the other case ladders I play on.
Thanks,

The case's yahoo ladders that I belong to all call for Rated tables, for a few reasons. It helps the tournament directors a great deal to be able to check the yahoo profile for the game results if a player fails to report their tourney game and it also assists Ops in the fight against false reports. There are probably some ladders that have decided against it, but I prefer the rated tables myself.
