MOONING MISHAP
UTRECHT, Netherlands (AP) - A young Dutch man is the butt of his own joke, after trying to moon a restaurant. Police report the 21-year-old pressed his bare rear end against a window and the glass broke. The young man lacerated his behind and was treated at a nearby hospital. According to authorities, the injured prankster was 1 of 3 running a down a street with their pants down. The trio have agreed to pay for the broken window. And the cafe owner has decided not to press charges.BUS-GOAT
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - One bus passenger has gotten the goat of transit officials. Authorities in Portland, Oregon, are trying to figure out how a goat got on a bus. The transit vehicle was on a layover Monday night in southeast Portland when a pygmy goat wandered aboard. The driver was outside the bus at the time and the doors were left open. The bus driver shut the doors, with the goat inside and then called for help. The 35-pound goat got a ride -- but not on the bus. It was taken to an animal shelter. Officials are trying to find the animal's owner.
GRASS-CUTTING PENALTY
CANTON, Ohio (AP) - Canton, Ohio, is getting tough on grass violators. Those who let their grass grow too high could face jail time. The city council has unanimously passed a law that makes a second grass violation a misdemeanor carrying a fine of up to $250 and as many as 30 days in jail. One councilman notes the city spends about a-quarter of a million dollars a year cutting grass on overgrown private lots. Mayor William Healy says the new law is what's needed to clean up the city.
FAST-FOOD SMUGGLING
TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - There was more than chili in those tacos. An Arkansas jail guard is charged with smuggling drugs into the lock-up hidden in food. Miller County authorities say Jordan Michael Waller had pot stashed under chili and syringes inside of tacos. Police report they also found tobacco, methamphetamine and some drug paraphernalia on Waller as well. He's being held on $100,000 bond and faces a number of serious charges, including drug dealing.
