If TRAM is triggered it is because 1 player at the table will take all the tricks and no amount of changing the order of play of the card in your hand will change the outcome. There is no point trying to finesse another trick if there is not one to be won.

I would like to make a very important point at this juncture - the problem that arose recently could have been handled better and sadly I suspect that the new player that put TRAM into play may not return to play with us.

The problem as I saw it is that a player immediately left the table and announced in the lobby that TRAM IS ON and refused to return to the table. In my opinion, any problem with a table and I have seen this before in our lobby, involves calling the TD to the table and allowing the TD to adjudicate on how the issue is managed and/or handled.

The rules of the ladder are and I quote :

Match Settings:

All matches must be played as regular Euchre on rated and protected tables. If set incorrectly, the match shall be cancelled and replayed using the required settings provided the situation is reported prior to the end of the first hand.

The case mentioned above, they were in fact on either the 2nd or 3rd hand.

I assume that as a TD if I am faced with that situation that I will be called to the table, decide how it will be handled and my decision will be final.

I believe that the biggest feat is dealing with the change. A statement was made at a table recently that the auto play in the circumstance makes errors. I went on to correct that and it made it us understood that the auto play may not play the cards in the order you would choose but that is not the same as it making errors.

I play quite regularly in a Spades League and they have it in use at all tables for all games. It can be a bit disconcerting even startling the first few times that you experience it, but most that take take the time, do get use to it and love it because it speeds up games and tournaments.

I don't have an axe to grind here but I am not prepared to sit by while untruths about that feature are being spruked in the lobby or at a table, because again in my opinion, I think it comes from a place not of experience but one of inexperience.
