I hope everyone has been keeping up with what is happening with Hoyle games by checking the Hoyle Help forum. I am pasting the announcement that came out this evening.
Hoyle Online Membership Drive--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To the Hoyle Community,Cases Ladder is pleased to let everyone know that weve come up with a way to keep the site up and running.
For the month of March, everything will continue as-is.
Starting April 1st, in order to cover the costs of upcoming hardware migration, our bandwidth and overhead, we will need to collect a small yearly membership fee. With the economy where it is, we worked very hard to keep the yearly ante (membership fee) as little as possible.
If enough community members sign-up, we can make this work for less than $1.70 a month. Because of the way credit card companies bill us, we do need to collect the full year $20 membership at sign-up.
Please know that weve listened carefully to your feedback and think this amount meets your suggestions. We also heard that you want to give the gift of a membership to a friend. So, when you sign up to your membership, you can sponsor a friend for a year at only $10.
We will provide further updates over the next few weeks as we approach the start of the membership drive.
Please take a moment to complete the following short survey to let us know what you think.

I will keep my foot in the door here. Even pay the $20. As I have already moved my account to Renaissance that will be my primary home. There are already many there who couldn't, for what ever reason, get in here. For me, the important thing is to keep in contact with my 'Hearts Family'.

I think this is about as good of news that could be expected. Obviously someone was going to have to pay for Cases to run the website on their servers.I'm just worried about all the players we'll lose, the ones who'll never come back and the new ones we'll never see. It doesn't seem like they'll draw any NEW customers at all, with all the free options out there.
Games like spades shouldnt have a problem, as there are always players. But what about hearts? We've already had trouble keeping players in the room.
I'll be here, but will anybody else???

Hi everyone, As of now, I'm really glad for the good news that Hoyle will be staying and I don't think the $20. a year is a bad deal for as bad as we wanted to keep our home. But, the bad news is that unless things pick up for me I won't get to come back until matters here on my finances get cleared up. I can't find a job right now and everything is piling up debt wize. I will be in the room tonight since that will be last opportunity and if anyone wants to get in touch with me I will remain at Rengames or you can add me to messenger or email me at [email protected]. I will miss my friends there and I will return as soon as I am able to. You all are my online family so please try and keep in touch. OK?Deb (GlennsGal)
