WIZARD GUIDELINES

We are the POGO WIZARDS we play CANASTA in Safe Harbor Games in the PogoWizards room.

Hopefully you have joined us and if not we hope you do. You will find links the room on the Wizard Beta page (www.myleague.com/pogowizards)

The Wizards started September 21, 2007 made up of people just like you that want to play canasta with friends and joke around have fun while playing and not having to worry about cheaters or rude people or host. We try to stay as drama free as we can. Knowing as large as we have grown some drama does happen. We do our best to try to ignore it. We try not to rehash or bring it to the lobby.

The winner reports to the host the winner of the game. Normally this is done like this Host***winner/nonwinner.

Wizards Regular Games are RATED: Some games have Funky rules . Games should take no longer than 40 minutes. At 30 minutes the host will ask how the game is going. At 35 minutes the host will go to table to see the score and inform the players they have 5 minutes to finish. The game will be given to the person not holding up the game with extends or problems. If it’s noted that neither person is responsible for holding up game the game will got to the high score. Note: the host will let you finish the game if your within a min or 2 to finish.

TOURNMENT OF CHAMPIONS (TOC) This is winners of a tournament of the previous month. CASES GETS THIS LIST FROM THE TOURNAMENT WINNERS OF THE PREVIOUS MONTH. THE HOST CANNOT ADD ANY PLAYERS.

RULES FOR 2 PLAYER GAMES:

When setting a table, sit in either the TOP LEFT seat(seat 1) or the BOTTOM RIGHT seat(seat 3). Click start and wait for options to pop up. Set it for 2 player version and DISABLE bots ( so your game remains rated). Then to whatever game you want to play. DO NOT JOIN A TABLE UNTIL THE X'S APPEAR ON SEATS 2 AND 4. Players have 5 minutes to get to the table and begin play. Our games have a 40 minute time limit so please play in a timely manner. If for some reason you need to leave a game early or you DQ in a funk game please click on RESIGN before you exit the room.

If a opponent freezes or goes MIA, tell the host in the lobby . The host will try to contact the person, and place him/her on a 10 minute timer. If a player uses 6 of their minutes than they only have 4 left for the entire tourney.

Members must not jump the next tourney until their play is concluded in their current tournament. This same rules apply to all tours. If you poof during the tour you are on a 10 minute timer if you have used 5 minutes somewhere in tourney then they only have 5 minutes remaining.

Please make sure to read the rules page for each tourney you plan to join. The rules are on the main tourney page as well as on the rules page.

RULES FOR 4 PLAYER GAMES:

ALL IMS (AIM YAHOO AND TRILLIAN) TO BE TURNED OFF BY ALL PLAYERS BEFORE TOURNEY BEGINS!!!! THE HOST SHOULD CHECK AS BEST THEY CAN TO INSURE NO ONE IS ABUSING THE RIGHT TO PLAY IN A HONEST GAME. PLEASE BE IN THE LOBBY AT LEAST 5 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING TIME. IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE LOBBY JUST BEFORE THE TOUR CLOSES THE HOST WILL REMOVE YOU.



The 4 players has a few rules that are different than 2 player:

1.We will use a sub if player is missing in action when a table is set. This must be a Wizard, and picked by the host. If a member is on a bye they are allowed to sub for the missing player. If there is no sub in the room the Host will IM other wizards and ask them to come in and sub.

2.If a member returns after the sub has started, the sub has the option to finish that game.

LEAGUE RULES

We pride ourselves on being as courteous as we can be, and making tourneys run as smooth as possible. Everyone appreciates this about our league. We are quite proud in the fact we are here as a group with no one feeling like they are the boss over anyone else. We are all equal and after the same thing and that is to have fun.

1. Administrators have the final word. We have several Adm’s to help you whenever needed. Problems will be handled in private, problems are not to be handled in the lobby. This is a GAME, not a life threatening issue and the Wizards work hard to insure you enjoy the time you spend in the rooms with fellow Wizards. We as administrators will keep your confidence. But ours will be the final word and we expect you to respect that decision.

2. Host determines the game being played and the game rules.

3. Problem players: -First offense- We will be courteous and remind you that kind of behavior will not be tolerated. -Second offense-We will issue an email warning. -Third offense-You will be boxed for 1 day meaning (you can't play in ANY league game) -Fourth offense-3 day suspension.-Fifth offense-Player will be removed from the league. Members are expected to respect each other and all staff. EXTREME PROFANITY IN THE LOBBY WILL RESULT IN A 7 DAY BOX. A SECOND INCIDENT WILL RESULT IN REMOVAL FROM THE WIZARDS. NO EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE!

4. All players are welcome. TDs from other leagues will have limited access to working around in the Wizards site. If you are an ADM or HTD in another canasta league you are welcome to join but not as a host. We feel that you will be recruiting from the Wizards which is not allowed by cases gaming site. You should be loyal to your home league. Which the Wizard staff is.

5. No cheat programs or Auto play programs will be tolerated. If this is reported and proof is agreed upon by the ADM's then the player will be booted and possibly banned from the league permanently and reported to cases.

6. During a tourney the ONLY people that should be at the table are the 2 players only, no watchers. The host, HTD or Adm can go in but that is the only exception and that is only if requested or the host needs to check on the game . Other than that there are NO EXCEPTIONS PERIOD!

7. Ladder matches 2 wizards playing a game chosen by the players, these games can be rated or not rated, the loser reports on the beta page under tournaments, report loss.

8. Any member or staff who is caught using the wizards spam list to recruit for another league or to send out hate mail about any member of the wizards will be removed from the league and reported to cases.

Our final word to you The Wizards is that this league was created out of love for the game of Canasta. It is not owned by any one person. We wish you to make new friends and leave with the feeling you have been playing cards with family members. Knowing you can come back play with the same people and just have fun. In order to achieve this we need everyone to work together and not let trivial situations influence their day when we log off its back to day to day life. So let's enjoy each other to the best of our ability.

1. Cases rules state all tourneys must have rules on page.

2. Do not change your game to make others happy or to get more jumpers

within 2 hours of the tourney.

3. Timers are implemented for a reason. They keep the game moving along,
no game should ever take over 40 minutes. If frozen or booted player gets
10 minutes to return. If a player uses 6 of their minutes than they only
have 4 left for the entire tourney. Cases has a boot timer
clock all should learn how to use it. Members jumping in more than one of the
Wizard tourneys have 10 min, only if they’re in finals. If they have used
5 min than only 5 min left for entire tourney.

4. If a member is still in a tourney and has jumped the upcoming tourney,
check to see if they want to DQ or remain and be removed from upcoming tourney.

5. If a member is playing a non tourney game including ladders they only
have 5 min to get to the tourney.

6. Host makes the decisions on their tourneys, if they are having problems
it’s their responsibility to handle or to ask for help. All other host are
to stay out of it. If there is an adm in the room the adm should ask the host
on im if they would like help. If Joy or Colleen is in the lobby it should be
handled by one of them.

BEING AN ADM.

An Adm should be very active in a league and the members need
to know that they are available for answering questions, helping
them with buxs and to keep it as drama free as possible.
We have come up with ways to insure that active members are the
Adms for the league Consideration will be taken by Adms on the
personality and their availability to the league.
Adm's do 4 tourneys a week, the exception to this is, if an
HTD or a TD needs a spot, always offer one of yours. So they
can also move up the Ladder. This seems like a lot but it’s
just one a day with 2 days off. Hopefully, as others become
host we can lower the amount of tourneys required.
This will be monitored.

We are not that strict, if you have a busy week and cannot do
4 than the next week try to do extra.
Tourneys can be run on odd hours if the even hours are filled.
Any host that chooses to do a funk
MUST MAKE IT CLEAR ON YOUR TOURNEY RULES PAGE.
OUR MEMBERS NEED TO KNOW IN THE LOBBY BEFORE THE TOURNEY
Funk is usually set at 4:00 PM.

It is not THE Adm’s responsibility to make sure your
tourney and rules match. This causes conflict in the league,
the lobby and a lot of unnecessary arguments. Tourneys may
go way into the night. For the late people they can
even be 4 player. This is new and we realize there will
be situations that will arise that we will work out as a team.
It’s not just a title in front of your name it’s really
getting involved in keeping this the best Canasta league.
Adms, HTDs, and TD’s do not correct each other, argue in
the lobby or try to interfere in someone else’s tourney,
unless asked. Always show good sportsmanship. If you see
something that you feel is wrong than it’s your
responsibility to come to JOY OR COLLEEN
they will address it .

Removal of your position: Example,if you go two week
and do not meet your quota, JOY OR COLLEEN
will email
you to see if there is a problem we are not aware of.
Than you are on a probationary period for 30 days where we
see if maybe doing the requirement is a little to much for you.

HTD REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WIZARDS

Anyone with hosting experience can become a Wizard HTD
as long as they can host 3 a week; and can handle most
situations that come up We are not going to move a new
TD up just because they can do 3 a week.
Because like the ADM's they represent the Wizards
as host that can handle the lobby, arguments, running
tourneys for a TD that can’t make it.
The HTD's are the back bone of any league.

TD REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WIZARDS

If you just want to host without helping
to run the league than we have the TD position.
The only requirement is one a week and of course
more if you can.

Its very important to be there or at least contact
an ADM or HTD so your tourney can be covered or moved.
Members depend on us knowing what is going on and
this is all about the members. . Host should be in the
room 15 to 20 minutes before the start of their tourney.
Spam should be sent out for every tourney 30 min
before and 15 min before. If you’re having a problem
Spamming talk to an Adm. This insures all members have
enough buxs and if someone wants to join to play in your
tourney your there to help them.

In closing, if you’re interested in another position,
contact JOY OR COLLEEN

You know what you’re capabilities are. But there
will be no exceptions to being fair.

Adms. Htd's and Td's good sportsmanship is a must
from us all. Arguments between the staff and back
stabbing will not be tolerated. In closing remember
it’s just a league that gives us all a break from the
stress of real life. The thing that makes a great host
is the ability to overlook a lot without letting it
get you down its just a game or a dot and if it makes
someone feel so good to win than at the end of the day
we have made people in our league have a better day.

Something to note. We have had problems with fellow
host iming us when we are trying to start a tourney or when
we are trying to set the tables or we have jumped in the tourney.
This freezes up the computer and we are sure others have
had the same problem. Unless it's real important.
Don't im each other when one is trying to play or
watch lobby and the other tables plus run their
tourneys with no mistakes.
