I would like to thank everyone who have said prayers and wished my niece a speedy recovery. Yesterday she was released from the brain injury facility in Ponoka, Alberta where she spent the last 63 weeks. She will be moving closer to home to another Brain Injury facility in Winfield, British Columbia. At this facility, Melissa will learn how to function with her disabilities and learn to live independently.
Thank you all from Melissa and Mean Old Uncle David (drc450)- My niece Melissa View

Dave, I realize this means a long trip for you but I know will be good for her to be closer to home. I am glad she can finally be closer to home and will continue to pray for her. I hope it won't be much longer til she can move out of a rehab institution and live independently once again. She's lucky to have such a loving uncle!!! Barb- Melissa View

I'm so glad to hear that she's moving ahead. Brain injuries are devastating to everyone in the family, especially when treatment is so far from home. I'm glad she'll be closer to her mean (i think you missed ornery?) Uncle Dave. Best of luck to your entire family Dave, I hope all goes as well as expected and you get more and more of Melissa back every day.((hugs))

That is great news Dave, I want to wish for continued improvement and smiles to go with the hard work that I know she will have to go though. I am sure Melissa doesn't think you are the "mean ole uncle" either. You have been so wonderful..You are a great uncle.Renee
